SPAIN.. Not UK

Other thread full so started part 2 for all you guys still going.

Hope you all get there.

We are not going now..

Decided to move to Spain and apply for residencia before we are completely out of EU.

So we have settled in Vera Playa.

Sure we will be out to GC after residency sorted.

Good luck to all that are going.

I think I am right in saying you only need the test to enter your accommodation?

You can get a rapid COVID test in Faro de Maspalomas for 15 euros.

From what I understand is you need to produce a negative test result in Spanish or English at the airport on arrival from any high risk country this includes the UK.

From 23rd November, you had to have a PCR test to get into the country. Failure to produce a negative test at arrival at airport could result in €6000 fine. Source, Canarian Weekly (this is from a high risk country, which we are)

I agree and no one can actually guarantee a result in 72 hours especially with an early morning flight at 7 am. Too much stress involved so would rather go next year when hopefully things may be better.

But good luck to everyone that goes.

Have to see how it pans out , things change really quickly . Antigen tests are loads easier , quicker and cheaper.

Sounds like there's a political will from the Canarian government just looking for Madrid to authorise there us for entry requirements into GC.

There is political will from the leader of the EU, but Spain holding firm at the moment on PCR for non Spanish.

It is a hard question. Maybe the antigen test will be permited from today by the Canary governament. The problem is the Spanish governament, who would cancel that rule in a few days, then PCR will be the only one valid test again

We weren't able to fly from East Midlands yesterday the royal mail tracked 24 service took from Saturday the 28th November until Wednesday the 2nd December to deliver our test kit we received our test results at 07:08 52 minutes before our flight took off. We would strongly recommend that if you are sending test kits back to laboratories you use an alternative courier.

If anyone knows how to make a claim from Royal mail please let us know.

"We weren't able to fly from East Midlands yesterday the royal mail tracked 24 service took from Saturday the 28th November until Wednesday the 2nd December to deliver our test kit we received our test results at 07:08 52 minutes before our flight took off. We would strongly recommend that if you are sending test kits back to laboratories you use an alternative courier.

If anyone knows how to make a claim from Royal mail please let us know.

This is why we have booked to have test done at a clinic few pounds more but takes a lot of the risk out hopefully, clinic have guaranteed results back in 48hrs from taking test."

Agreed we have done the same, walk in test at the lab £99 each, not relying on couriers over Xmas. Venus now a sell out too so should be plenty atmosphere;)

Paid for confirm test - unsure whether to send it back Wednesday or Thursday as we are due to fly early hours on the Sunday arriving in Gran canaria at 10.55am (so needs to be dated from - bit panicky that it wont get back in time

Just got my test back today - Negative - sweet!

Paid €180 in Ireland for it so great it was the right result as I felt it would have had to be anyway from isolating.

Out there for a week in PDI starting on Saturday eve!!

Be nice to meet some friendly single people and couples

I'm leaving next Saturday the 12th for a week in Playa De Inglés and really looking forward to it.

I'm travelling to London from Somerset to get a PCR test done. £150 for next day notification plus another day off work and expenses to get to London.

Not such a cheap holiday after all and quite a bit of hassle to organise. I still can't wait though

Trust me it's worth the expense. Everyone going back now is lamenting their return. It's a different world out here

"Really ? Why are they bringing it in ? Spike in cases or to be careful?"

There has been on Tenerrife in connection with a school but think its a bit of a trade off with the Spanish National Government.

Canaries want antigen tests and need to keep a lid on things but still get tourists is.

Maybe hard to believe, but people who go the Canaries, not all are swingers !

Hi - just arrived in Playa del Ingles last night staying near the Cita Mall in Bungalows Tajaraste.

Delighted to find that swingers clubs are open and to get around the early closing at some of them they are opening a little earlier.

I will be joined on Thursday by my girlfriend (Leanna69) who will be looking for couples/girls/men.

I leave on the 23rd but she stays until the 28th. Would be great to meet up with couples and singles.

PCR test is what you need. Have a look at Sofitel Gatwick rest and test, overnight at the hotel the night before you fly and 2 overnight PCR tests, £239.

Then a 2 minute stroll to the airport the next day.
