"are they testing all the 1000's of migrants before allowing them in ? I think not could be a busy year there ?
Well you think wrong. "
Doesn't matter how many times we tell him, he only comes on the forum to complain about migrants.

"Putting off booking my test in the hope they will permit the antigen test"
We fly on Dec 27th, we have booked overnight tests on the 26th, as we don't land in PDI until 18.30 on the 27th, 72 hours before that is Xmas Eve, nowhere open, we have booked to make sure we can get the tests we need when we need them, some clinics/test providers are booked up for tests over the busy Xmas period already. |

If you are NOT flying over 26/27/28/28 you can get a test quite easily.
If you ARE flying on the above dates then it could be very tricky.
I private labs may well be closed on 25th and 26th.
As 26th is a Saturday post office will be shut for posting samples away.
The Monday 28th will also be a Bank Holiday as it will carry over from Boxing day...
Jet2 have got information on their pages about testing , and a deal they have in place , likewise TUI with Randox but if you cannot get your samples collected or posted, the you have issues.
From what I have read, the 'fit to fly certificate' must have your name , passport number , and date of test on it.
It states this on the FCO website, along with other info.
Unless the airlines come up with a plan for 27th Dec onwards, then, under the laws set out, people will struggle if the PCR is required. |

We are flying on the 26th, emailed a lab and they responded;
Hi,
Yes this is possible as we are operating 8 - 6 on Christmas day, If you get
tested on Christmas Eve you will still receive your results by 1pm the next
day (this is guaranteed)
I hope this helps
Many thanks |

As long as the time of your test is less than 72hours before you arrive in GC, it can be a problem with flights that land at 7pm etc. It can also be an issue if it's going to take an hour or so before you get to accomodation as test needs to be within 72 hours of check in too. |

"
Antigen test, not antibody. Very different.
Please could you explain to me what it is"
An antigen test reveals if a person is currently infected with a pathogen. Nucleic acid based tests such as PCR, detect the presence of genetic material, antigen tests detect proteins. As these proteins take longer to appear in positive cases, the PCR test is a more reliable benchmark.
Antibody tests just test for antibodies, they don't tell you whether you are positive or negative. |

Spain not moving on the PCR test at the moment.
The EU may be the only hope as they are pushing for a common travel policy. If countries dig their heels in , they will be threatened with withdrawal of monies or subsidies to help them make the right decision lol |

The saliva PCR test is now becoming more widely available, less intrusive, especially for kids, as Spain wants a negative test regardless of age. It's also cheaper and faster to process, with a turnaround of approximately 12 hours. Give it a couple more weeks, a PCR test won't be an issue, it will be the new normal.

We used the link on the Jet2 manage your booking web page to obtain our PCR test, the link took us to Confirmtesting.com the cost was advertised as £119.99 but when you use the discount code provided by Jet2 the cost came down to £75.00 each plus £7.50 p&p don't forget you also have to fill in a Spanish FCS form from spth.gob.es |

Just be aware with posted tests that any delay with royal Mail could bugger things up completely, especially when taking into consideration bank holidays, Xmas etc.
Good to see the prices coming down though. |

"Boots are adding more stores to their testing list every day. Two near me were added in the last 24 hours.
£120 and guaranteed results within 48 hours."
From the boots terms and.conditions !!!
"• Whilst every effort will be made, we cannot guarantee results will be received within 48 hours" |
