Zurich. NOT London. |
If flying from London airports, Sofitel is doing overnight PCR testing at its hotel at Heathrow.

"If you test positive do you lose the money of your holiday ?"
We rang our travel insurance which is free with direct line home insurance
If the test comes back positive they will pay a claim
If the test doesn't come back in time or is inconclusive they will NOT lay the claim
We cancelled and lost the deposit due to this thankfully we hadn't paid the balance or they would have taken 40%
(There was an option of deferring the balance payment for 30 days which we took thankfully)
It's a shambles
Having said that I agree 100% with the need for testing. |

"According to Which? only Nationwide offers insurance if you can't travel due to a lockdown being announced and this cover will stop on 31 December"
Jet2 will not take people in inclusive holidays from areas in lockdown but flights are dodgy. Again complete shambles but it really the airlines or even the government fault.
You pays your money you take your chance. |

It all seems a shambles to me and I admire anyone for travelling on holiday. We don't know if they will extend the lockdown or not...I hope not! |

Bloody miles away from us but thanks that’s very useful information and hopefully others up North follow suit
That said we did have one hell of a party in the Sofitel last time we were down |
