With all the posts about how quiet it is in GC,and particularly PDI/Maspalomas can anybody who is there update us on the Taxi situation. We don't want to go out late into Cita and find to there is no taxi back to Maspalomas? Thanks for any info

You get hold of the number of the taxi company. You phone them and they come around to pick you up. The other night there were perhaps 20 or 30 of us waiting for taxis and within 15 minutes there was no one left waiting.

A good tip is to got to the loo before you leave the bar!

Due to situation the taxi asociation has arranged, that taxis must work one day a week only. So the days they work the keep busy enough or at least a bit to be able to cover some of the expenses. So is possible that a pick times it my seem there is a lack of taxis but if you move around in the center you will picked up for sure.

Looking at the Yumbo webcam, you can see taxis around when it spins round past the mini golf and looks down the road.

Taxis in PDI aren't an issue. The taxi ranks may not be full but we have never waited more than a couple of minutes for one to cruise by.

The taxi service is spot on when we are heading out I call the taxi number and it asks if you want a taxi from the last place you called from press the star key and it will send you one if not wait for an operator and they’ll ask if you want one from your home address. They will then ring you twice (no need to answer) to say they are on there maximum of five minutes and the taxi is there.

This bit is great as it gives you time to get outside.

Of a night I do the same thing and ask for a number of taxis to wherever you are. Last I called and asked for 4 and they were there in a matter of minutes. Hope this helps

I'm here on my own and have used the Pide taxi app. It works just like uber, it's excellent. But there have also been plenty of taxis at the ranks in the main areas like the Yumbo.
