We're due to fly out on the 4th for a week but I'm not holding out much hope unfortunately. With the colder weather arriving the numbers will probably get worse over the next 4 weeks.
We'll be gutted if we can't go, more than ever we need a bloody holiday |

We are same, still optomistic though

1st for us... 17 days... However,
I'll be amazed if it's not cancelled now due to the new German quarantine rules ....this makes the hotels unprofitable..
Unfortunately Canarian Weekly is now talking about hotel closures in the next couple of weeks when the current Germans return home..
.
We 'may' still go, via an alternative, route but, that too is now looking dodgy/not-worthwhile.
.
We will evaluate when/if Jet2 cancel after the 13th.
.
Still got Xmas booked though and Oct 21 so, not all bad.

Germans now have to quarantine, travelling from canaries, until they test negative. This will mean less of them travelling, so I guess it will affect the German bars... |

"Looks like the government are changing the policy with regards to Island destinations, could be very good news if the canaries can keep the Covid cases low
Yes they remain on the list at the moment, so have to get the rates down."
According to the Canarian Weekly there are new restrictions in place. I would imagine they take time to have an effect.
In a strange way it might be a long term positive for them to have had a spike now rather than in October. At least they are taking responsible measures unlike us in the UK "getting back to normal" |

No The article states:
"While waiting for the official results of the new restrictions implemented by the Government of the Canary Islands in Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and El Hierro, and their real effect is to be verified, the trend continues to be worrying"
It looks like they are enforcing rules far more strictly. They state "LEISURE AND LOW AWARENESS ARE THE MAIN CAUSES FOR THE GRAN CANARIA EXPLOSION IN CASES:"
There's quite a few stories of large parties, people refusing to wear masks etc. It looks like these people are getting more than a slap on the wrist. |

"Tui have just cancelled our holiday.. again. Will re book when we can, hopefully third time lucky. "
As Miss C said above, we had our TUI holiday cancelled and booked dirt cheap flights with easyJet. Whether that flight transpires into reality is another thing.
Before we were just wanting to go on holiday. Now we also want to escape the madness here too. |

When I asked Venus they would shift our dates a bit but only refund if you cancel more than 30 days in advance and they weren’t budging on that. We’re due to fly 10th to 17th. Our original flights were cancelled this morning but I’ve rebooked with EasyJet. Just hope they fly. |

I don't think easyJet would cancel a full flight. The more people get cancelled by other airlines and buy easyJet more chances of the flights not getting cancelled. |

Still going from 2nd to 12th October with Ryanair. We cant wait to get away from UK for the summer weather again. Plus bars and restaurants closing time at midnight are luxury now. |

This is true but bars are allowed to open till 1am which compared to over here they close at 10pm which is a luxury. |

My understanding is that the true rate in GC is currently 49:100 000.
It's also my understanding although I may be mistaken that 50 is the benchmark for most European countries when it comes to travel bans. Apparently the decision is revised on 28th September... Reyes Maroto will be putting forth a case for the Canaries in Europe is the press is to be believed. |

Then upgraded to all inclusive when checked in.

"Just seen an article from the Canarian press online. Seems like Tui are opening up flights again for October ( maybe only from Germany ?) so should mean a lot more people will go ? " TUI are putting on from Sat 7 flights a week, across all the islands. Maybe capacity 1500-2000 pax and actual numbers will depend on those wishing to comply with the current rules upon their return...so not expecting much change here. There's many more arriving from the mainland in a week.
TUI and the tourist industry are hoping that the German government change the rules in 2 weeks. UK is another matter! |

We are staying at the Occidental Margarita Hotel and leaving on the 5th October. It’s very quiet but we are making the most of kiosk 6 and the amazing weather! If you did want to come out here, do not book a package and simply book your flight with Ryanair and hotel separate. That way your holiday will not get cancelled.

32 degrees. Oh no! That will mean I will lose my lily white complexion
We arrive on Monday 5th on EasyJet from Gatwick. Staying till the 27th.
We've had a nightmare. First flights were cancelled and we gained over £1000 out of the deal and 3kg more per case. Then our return flight got cancelled so we must stay an extra day.
Any more bad news and we will be doing cartwheels! |

Just arrived in GC from LGW. LGW quiet LAS even quieter.. Temperature checked and QR checked at LAS. Really painless EasyJet flight less than 50% capacity. Took off early.
