Not sure how it will be for people arriving in the next few weeks but all I can say is that in the past few weeks we have travelled the whole island and without exception the main tourist places are still closed. They physically cannot afford to open and as from yesterday the local government have announced that they will continue with the furlough until the end of September. Which in turn means there is no pressure for bar/restaurants to open up. Its a chicken and egg scenario but having seen a couple of restaurants open in Costa Teguise then close the following week as there are no customers for them. This week we were also told that all inclusive holidays are finished along with what are very popular all you can eat Chinese buffet type of restaurant.
The main capital Arrecife is buzzing its like it missed the whole thing but that of course is where most local people live and of course they are not interested in over inflated priced bars and restaurants.
We desperately need tourists back on the island but until people are happy to venture the 4 hours by plane it will be very problematic for the next few months.
As people who have lived and worked on the island for over 20years I feel that we have a good grounding on what is going on over here and with that in mind plus also knowing a lot of business people here things will not be back up and running in any proper fashion until probably October. Sorry to sound so pessimistic but the reality is we have been virus free for 5 weeks now and everything is still shut. So just be warned you may arrive and nothing much could possibly be open. |

There are a few bar open particularly in the square Marinero in Costa Teguise. Not much happening anywhere else but very very slowly things are starting to open.
Many flights from Germany & England arriving on the island, Saturday was the busiest I have seen it for many months but not many people getting off this end. |

If you are thinking of heading to Charco del Palo many of the apartments are now open but please note that none of the bars/restaurants are open until September. So if you are heading this way make sure you have a car as you will have to travel out for food etc. The local supermarket is open. |

It closed ages ago. Theres no swingers places on the island that I'm aware of. Best bet is to have your location enabled on this site, and see who's near |

Just be aware if using Who's Near that it doesn't know about the wet stuff between Lanzarote and Fuerteventura!
We get excited to see nearby couples, only to find they're on the 'other' island.
Obvious when the crowds are in Gran Can...
