It was announced today that it was unlikely that any holidays abroad would happen this year

This was Matt Hancock speaking on BBC this morning

We have a place near Benidorm so this has put paid to getting out there this year we normally spend July and August out there and normally at least a week in each of the other months

We were hoping there would be a chance to get out in September but that has been dashed

That's a shame. Not sure how we can get round it. There may be some lifting of the measures, especially as you have a place out there, but it's the risk of airports and flying whilst the virus is still around.

We just have to accept it even if you could fly out you have to self isolate for 14 days on your return

So anyone booking two weeks away will have to book four weeks off work

He's not got a clue coving his own ass.

No travel for 12 months no hugs till a vaccine found ,last week no sunbathing this year.

Still saying save the nhs even though it's only running at 60% wanker.

Trouble is things are changing ever day, virus is starting to take a back set as the economy everywhere is tanking.

Sure they start putting profits first.

I am sure he has some idea what he is doing. I am also sure the NHS is running at higher than 60% capacity. If it is just at 60% then surely him and his team have done something right!

However there is still a shortage of PPE in hospitals and for care workers so we do need to continue protecting the NHS and also what about a second wave they are predicting.

As for calling him a wanker, why? Surely the wankers are those putting others at risk!

With the UK proposing 14 day quarantine when you come back and now Spain doing the same nobody is going anywhere at the moment it seems. Fingers crossed things will change enough for my week in Barcelona at beginning of Spetember but so far only paid for flights, did consider paying for hotel in February but as we deal direct with hotel I'm glad I haven't but given the good relationship we've got with the hotel I don't think a refund would have been any harder than getting one from EasyJet or RyanAir.

The proposal from Spain does not include people within the EU

With lots of restrictions and testing before you go. We have been going to Corfu for many years so have many friends there, I think they would prefer we don't go, so as to protect themselves. There will be no cleaning of rooms, no change of towels or bed linen, social distancing, very difficult in small tavernas, we've changed our holiday until next year, in the hope it's better.
