"Just finished episode one, and what a brilliant, bizarre insight it is on the captive animal society in the US
If you ever thought that Americans were crazy, then this confirms it "
It gets better. Wait til the dispute between Carole and joe escalates. I was in stitches watching it |

"How surreal is that. I think big cat rescue is just as guilty. But they are all crazy feckers. Have to buy the album pmsl"
I think they all started out with good intentions, got to many big cats and didn’t have the money to keep them so had to start breeding or killing cats when they became a financial gain.
His songs are awful lol except the one where he gets the look alike of Carole that’s hilarious |

"Might sound daft but I don’t want to watch it because it annoys me seeing animals treated like that hahah, hear he isn’t about anymore anyway"
He’s inside. It tells you that at the beginning anyway so it’s not a spoiler. The story is mostly the cat people rather than the animal’s themselves. There are bits when you think “poor cats” but it’s not that often.
Most of the time I just say through it thinking I want a tiger
We are going to America in October so I’m going to try and find somewhere that lets us get close to them |

"Anyone else watched this? I really enjoyed it. There’s also a wee tip in it for people who struggle to get meets "
I watched it a couple of nights ago, after a couple of episodes, the Tiger King became more interesting than the Tigers. It was brilliant. |

Aviemore and regularly visit Glasgow |
Haven’t watched it yet but it’s on the list. I do recognise the guy from photos being shared of him though, he featured in a Louis Theroux documentary quite a few years back now about dangerous animal ownership in America. It’s on Netflix and also well worth a watch.

Just started watching this. Even after first episode you realise how F**ked up a country the USA is. You can’t drink till your 21 but can own a machine gun and tiger! Lol
Glad I only stayed a year

We watched the first episode last. We have a suspicion that this will be like ‘Making a Murderer’ With eight episodes that could have been done well in three or four. Don’t get us wrong, we’re still going to watch it all. |

I watched it over a couple of nights and enjoyed it,but the frightening part was the statistics shown at the end of it
there's between 5,000-10,000 tigers in The States but only 4,000 (i think it was) wild in Africa, sad |

"Watched the first one last night. Confirms how fucked up America is. But strangely addictive, gonna binge a few tonight. So long as he doesn’t start singing again. If you could call it singing lol"
His songs are class. Wait until you hear some more of them. The one he done with the look a like of Carole in the video is possibly the best thing I’ve ever watched on Netflix |

Started watching it but not impressed.
Sad fact is there are more tigers in captivity in the USA than in the wild
I find it sickening that the Big Cat Support group is just tiger exploitation under a different banner
No Surprising what the Americans will do for cash |

You should also watch the Louis Theroux documentary, slightly different perspective and it looks like it might have been filmed before joe exotic completely lost his marbles/ got addicted to meth. |

Yeah I heard about that! At the end one of his ex employees says that about Joe, basically he lost sight of what was important, the animals, and concentrated too much on being famous!
Not saying the guy didn’t deserve to go to jail for what he was doing to some of the tigers but I still ain’t convinced he wasn’t set up.

Just finished it and the follow up today. Yes joe did wrong but 22 years in jail...that’s more than murderers and rapists get in Britain. If that Jeff dude doesn’t end up in jail I will be pissed off. Joe is such a likeable guy and he did so many good things as well. I hope he doesn’t die in jail |

Carole Baskin is the true criminal. Makes out she's a saint trying to save the animals when her place is the exact same or worse! Also comes out that she bred and sold tigers etc when they first started out. Total hypocrite.
Oh and yes that's without the fact she blatantly killed her husband.
I think Joe had good intentions but loved the media and popularity too much and lost sight of the fact he used to love the animals. Staff living conditions were shocking though, weren't allowed to leave and the young husband's were groomed and fed with drugs to stay with him it seems.
I do think he deserves jail time for the above and if he was killing the animals. And after such a public argument he obviously was in trouble when a potential plot to kill came out as he said such controversial things. But do I think he would have actually done it or planned it? No I don't think he had it in him in reality or had the intelligence to carry it out. Hence where Jeff comes in. He was a snake and wouldn't surprise me if he set him up.
Really enjoyed the programme though and america is even more mental than I already thought. Lol. |
