I would imagine most of the people who have it or have died never thought it would happen to them.

Personally think people are mental and selfish, I'm certainly not taking unnecessary risks. It's not myself getting anything that concerns me it's the the fact I could pass something to my dad who has current health issues.

You may have already and not be aware. You can pass it on before you show any symptoms.

Well my kids are still at school apart from teeny because she's not well but not related and her asthma is for a change in control because she's actually using her preventer, though she takes any excuse not to go to school, my eldest still working in a shop and at the minute I'm still happy going out and about, but no meets arranged other than the bikes, away tto pick up a family member today to get her out and get some shopping she's only just got her benefits, bad enough trying to get her to stretch her money to pay for essentials every months as it is, she's diabetic and has other health issues but she can't self isolate she needs and gets lots of support from various different care agencies, for some there's not really much choice

I'd still meet one on one, since I seem to end up doing the social thing only these days. And it would require guys actually turning up, which isn't the norm. So not meeting really

Not comfortable with swingers clubs and parties and regular pubs at the moment x

I totally get this. What about people who can't afford to bulk buy, I work with people with mental health issues and most cant understand why the cant go out etc. Our service is getting scaled down over next few days to emergency only Support.

I think people need to be sensible and not put themselves in any situation which will put themselves and others at risk ..if any symptoms at all definitely should not ....specially those who have family members who are high risk or nhs healthworkers really need to think long abd hard about continuing fab meets ( non social i mean ) but life does have to go on at some point so think it comes down to just extra care

Everyone will get it regardless, it's just matter of time and how our bodies deal with it, some it will be a slight cold, maybe a flu and then some get corona your body is the only self defense weapon now as there's no vaccines to rely on .

So I'd be more concerned in boosting your bodies immunity than worrying about what everyone else is doing. Dont just listen to the news do some proper in depth research into how this virus actually works.

Your all freaking about social meets, yet you go to the local shop, supermarkets for foods etc.. touch trolleys, baskets, foods thats everyone touches. You go to petrol pumps where everyone touches pumps, you walk and breath each others air, every day. What's the difference with meeting someone face to face and walking past someone in the shops???? If your going to get it, your going to get it.

Kids are still at school. It's obviously common sense, if you feel something coming on, like a cold, flu, u feel larthgic, constant headache or just not feeling 100% then you just don't go out or meet.

A hell of a lot of older people and those with compromised immune systems will not. If you can, in any way, limit your social contact you should be doing so.

Stay home and have a wank for fucks sake.

Once I get told it's too serious not to come to work or to work from home I'll stop doing meets. I'm working for the coronavirus hotline, they have just employed hundreds of people just in my call centre to man the phones 24/7. Call centres are some of the worst places for incubation of illnesses, if they believed we would get hurt they wouldn't have us there.. unless we are being used as collateral.

Realistically everyone should do their level best anyway . Simple and don’t be arrogant to it . Plenty of people that was unaware they had underlying issues . Need to stem it as much for longer so people can get in to decent responsive states and get or help who they need . Don’t be a shitebags

There’s a massive difference between catching it at work, or when you're trying to get food or loo roll, than when you're out partying. Personally I wouldn't forgive myself if i passed this on to my boy's grandparents, or the people i work with, because i wanted to party not caring about anyone else but myself.

Yeah, we might all get it. But if everyone is just going to clubs and parties, cinemas, wherever you'd find big groups of people, medical staff and hospitals won't be able to cope because in no time this will have spread everywhere.

Listening to the horror stories coming from Italy, people being stuck in the house with dead relatives for days is just one of them, I'd rather not see that happening anywhere else - especially in my own home turf x

Yes there is more chance if getting it in crowded areas but it only takes 1 person to spread it as I said before people are contagious before symptoms even appear

Unfortunately for me I don’t get this luxury, I still need babysitters for when I’m at work, so as I said again what harm is one extra person coz it could be a family member who has it rather than someone on here lol.

People are dying from lots of other health issues. The death rate in China is 0.00015 of the population. The survival rate is 98.6%.

It’s not the plague. It’s a flu.

Just a thought , people happily go to work knowing they have the flu and pass it on to others , now the flu stats are around 20,000 people killed each year off all ages and i don't here people on Fab complaining about not meeting socially or playing .

So to be honest i think its the worry off not having a vaccine for this virus thats making people more scared and until we find one our lives are going to change a great deal just like it did in the 80's with Aid's .

So even tho i do agree with most comments in the post i think common sense needs to prevail

When virus first came about I've had my kids off school, isolated us 3 weeks now ,when most were still contemplating sending thier little ones to school, only person going out is me to shops and hubby to work,he has little to no contact, pick up keys (with gloves on) drives truck changes over trailer and drives back, his work have provided wipes and hand sanitisers. I go out and do all families shopping big kids and ours (my parents live in dundee so in no contact with elderly family members) , which mean I've taken all steps to reduced us passing on anything as I'm wearing gloves scarf over my face and glasses on as you can also catch this through your eyes . How many others do this. This is because there are larger numbers in shops, supermarkets.

Our plans were to still party however as time goes on we decided back up plan in place should things worsen. If we decide to go ahead and meet our 2 friends who we are in contact daily about this, we will make sure that all parties are in good health and feel 100%, if not then different story like any other time if we feel ill if we have the slightest cold we wouldn't go and spread anyway.

So before anyone calls those irresponsible for still meeting, are you yourself walking about with mouth and nose covered, gloves on, because that's what I do, people shopping are unprotected and I'm getting funny looks because I've taken measures to protect others.

Buying food you pick up foods, boxes cartons in shops, put in trolley, get to check out, the cashier touches your food then you touch to pack bags people are standing close to each other in ques . No one wearing protective wear at all. Not seen a single other person protecting themselves and other but im fine because im doing my bit.

Im not stressing about this as stress effect your immunity so stay positive.

I wont criticise anyone for their decisions to continue to arrange meets or not, but realistically the Covid-19 outbreak is likely to be with us for at least 18 months.

It will have times like now where there will be peaks then die down, this is the normal pattern with Corona viruses.

As someone said above, this is going to be the new normal at least until a vaccine is ready.

Risk assessment and mitigation is key. Attending clubs might not be a good idea at the moment (like bars, theatres and cinemas) but small meets might be fine in individual circumstances.

Wasn't too long when Boris wanted 60% of population infected to build herd immunity infact that was only last week , reason why schools were being kept open but now different story because scientist told him it was needed but fact is can't have herd immunity without vaccines, can't rely on people's on bodies immunity because many are immune compromised, many have had flu vaccines all thier lives so now are at more risk as thier own immunity will not be able to cope with this as bodies will have to fight on its own no help from a vaccine . So all uz panicking. Please do your research.

The government has no idea how to beat this, if it will get better or worse as they rely on scientist's who all have difference of opinions all over the world. That is a fact!!!! So rather make sure your stocked up on vitamins healthy food. Stop eating shite/ take aways/junk food and stop freaking the f out as that does no one any good.

It's not quite as simple as closing the schools letting parents take care of their kids.

Theee will be thousands of vulnerable children the length and breadth of Scotland for whom home won't be a safe at the best of times let alone during a potential lockdown.

Because there are people who need get childcare arranged and are needed in their jobs.

There are kids who will get another couple of hot meals.

Because local authorities are trying set up emergency provision for the most vulnerable children.

Mine are going in next two days, they are healthy and showing no signs illness.

So to be honest i think its the worry off not having a vaccine for this virus thats making people more scared and until we find one our lives are going to change a great deal just like it did in the 80's with Aid's .

So even tho i do agree with most comments in the post i think common sense needs to prevail "

The estimates for deaths from Covid-19 if strict measures weren't put in place were 250,000. More than 10 times the seasonal flu.

But they will be taking sensible precautions and any child who shows symptoms will not be allowed in.

I think it’s a sensible way to go as we all know families who will struggle - they struggle through summer holidays. That’s why schools have lunch clubs in the holidays.

Self-isolating should be renamed selfish-olating. Who is running the country, providing the services, selling you food at the till?? Why is it ok for these people to risk their lives to make sure YOU are ok. If everyone took the stance of going into hiding we would really be in deep shit. The likelihood is that the people who whine about it the most are the ones who are doing the least to prevent it. I doubt it is stopping people doing the stuff they actually WANT to do. Self isolation is just about abandoning your responsibilities for a while and making them someone elses problem, not prevention. And the posturing and holier than thou outlook on here regarding it...well thats just Fab for you!

This country has been through two world wars, don't recall the history books saying everyone went into hiding and the world ground to a halt......

Apparently the country will be fine if everything shut down tomorrow.

No food. No water. Nothing. Because EVERYONE is at home. For 2 weeks?? What happens in 2 weeks when we all come back out again? Guess what?? It just carries on.

I’m carrying on and I don’t give 2 hoots if people don’t like it.

I’m taking every sensible precaution and limiting my exposure to the most vulnerable people but I’m still carrying on

Don’t like it?? Don’t care anymore.

As long as the weak and elderly are protected then the rest should just get on with life.

I’ve offered any practical help to my fab friends if I can. If they’re really stuck and I can get something for them, I’m happy to do so and leave it on the doorstep for them as long as I’m healthy.

What happens in two weeks is everyone goes back to normal and the virus spreads more quickly and to a lot more because everyone thinks that’s it.... that’s what happened in Lombardy and now it’s out of control

the whole point of a controlled shutdown of activities, and adhoc timing of when things like closing schools or limiting socialising is introduced is to delay the pressure on the NHS.

Male life expectancy in Glasgow was 72 before this started. In Italy the overall average was 82. But it's just the flu don't worry.

Do you think people are going to list any medical conditions before any meet? Because I don't.

I could say I'm a statuesque blonde with amazing curves and fantastic legs. But I'm not.

People lie. But also, people are carrying this virus without any clue they are doing so. It's all very well saying you're virus free, but unless you've had a test confirming that, you don't know.

The fact that people are prioritising getting a fuck over ensuring they and their loved ones stay healthy is nuts. You're not invincible, and some of those that are badly ill with it probably thought it wouldn't happen to them either.

What's the difference with meeting someone face to face and walking past someone in the shops???? hey lets all live in a bubble and not do anything. what a load of crap folk are going mental buying loo rolls and sanitisers - its a fuckin virus its not bacteria so they will do sod all .

more folk die from road accidents , heart attacks and other things than covid19 globally - its the flu.

in the past if some one had the measles or chicken pox the kids were taken round and told to play with the kid so that you would get it and build up an immune to it but now folk live in a bubble and all these folk allergic to everything.

we sit in a bubble hoping that it wont contact us .

go out have a life and live normally - you dont need 12 rolls of loo roll, 50 packets of pasta and everything else in the shops, i wont say think of others because your all ready selfish bastards thinking only about your self and thats not going to change.

this virus is going to close a lot of businesses and some wont open back up afterwords due to funds and the ones that survive will put prices up to recoop losses.

live a normal life and if that means meeting folk then meet them dont become a hermit . if your a healthy adult then act normal and yes think of others as well but dont be an idiot.

Well let's be clear bout what is at stake. A lot of old and people with long term conditions will die. This is obviously terrible but do you think trashing the economy for our children and young people is the way forward? Maybe it is but the NHS makes decisions about drugs based on money every day and people die because they don't get the drugs. This is no different. We obviously have to do what we can but how far should dwe go?

Personally I won’t stop meeting my friends for a cuppa. As long as they are healthy.

I’ve already said I won’t meet up with one who was quite ill last year. She unders_ands it’s because I’m worried about her health. Not mine.

I’m not letting this run my life completely not will I live like a hermit.

I will take all the sensible precautions I can and avoid people who are vulnerable.

This is exactly what I’ve been doing and saying ALL along. Nothing has changed.

Those people who wish to isolate themselves from the world for months on end - do what YOU feel is right for you and yours. I will defend YOUR right to do so until I drop dead (not from coronavirus, but from mad cow disease)

BUT, don’t harass others or attempt to belittle people because they refuse to let this ruin our country.

Not an idiot, thanks. And I do have vulnerable people in my life, 2 of whom could die if I unknowingly pass the virus on to them, which is one reason why I won't be going out to shag a stranger.

Another being that I personally don't want to get sick, as it's not like people are going about with a sign above their head so you know who has it and have no symptoms. The only way to curb this virus is to stop unnecessary contact with others, and those that do have it can let it burn out or get treatment depending on the severity, as the medical professionals are telling us.

The point is to limit the opportunities for the virus to spread. If you don't get that, you're the idiot.

Also strange how many people talk about the fab community and making friends etc on here yet as soon as it fits the argument everyone is “shagging strangers” ... a meet from here in no way automatically means a random

How about people let others make their own mind up about what their situation/ risks are of contracting / spreading the virus and just do what they feel is appropriate to keep themselves and their families safe

Sighhhhhs. Everything being done is about damage limitation. That's why we are being asked to do only essential things when we go out and with whom we meet. If everyone stayed at home who would look after the sick, deliver the food, sell us the food etc? Schools are open so these vital workers can continue to provide these services. Other things that must be preserved are sewage workers, bin men and those that provide electricity and gas... it would be an ironic kick in the pants for those that have bought freezers and filled them if the lecky goes off. Overall we are being asked to limit as much contact as we can to minimise the spread as much as we can so that services can cope and a vaccine found. It would be nice also if everyone could be nice. Peace dear fabbers Peace...

They haven’t, but how is it any riskier than meeting someone you know from here who has also been isolating? Contact with one person is contact with one person wether you have a certificate to bind you to them or not

Everyone should be doing their bit to keep themselves safe and others .

As has been said there is an incubation period before symptoms appear so someone meeting an other person could have no sypmtoms and be passing it on.

This is why Lockdown is coming because people arent taking the steps to avoid social contact NOW!

I know its difficult and some cant totally avoid going out but they should be trying to distance themselves from contact where possible.

I think most think they aint going to get it or they dont know someone who has so wont take the steps needed at this time to prevent going out in public.

Last week and week before people weren't realising how bad the spread has got so wanted to carrying on as normal as that's what government advised as not to cause panic bit as days are going and death rate rising i think more and more are realising putting plans on hold is for the best.

Things are not normal and it will get worse be for it gets better. So best thing to do is look forward to summer and reschedule plans for then as that seems to be when they expecting things to calm down.

Discussions between our friends who we were meeting end of month have all decided, to put on hold.

Shortly it will not be our decision anyway.

The problem with this is ...(and just to be clear I agree with not going out and meeting) I as well as my husband is still expected to go to work everyday with 600 other people in a very close proximity!

I know its a bit crazy that some are still expected to work in crowded areas all you can do is try and protect youselves as much as possible ie masks & gloves(if allowed in the work place) & stay at home all other times

Sadly not possible for us I just think it’s a tad ironic, go to your work everyday with all those people but go for a meal with 30 others in a restaurant and all hell breaks loose! (Disclaimer I’m not going out for dinner I’m having toast ) x

Again it's about limiting and slowing the spread whilst maintaining essential services. Support workers, NHS staff, lorry drivers, utility workers, supermarket workers at every level and more - if you are one THANK YOU!!!

The infectious and death rates are increasing ten fold day on dat yet CJs and After Eight are continuing to advertise events in these uncertain times. These actions are completely irresponsible imo

Anyone attending would be as well just riding bareback

Maybe by supporting the pubs and restaurants for another day or two it will help them survive a bit longer. This virus won’t just take lives it will cost people their livelihoods.

That’s ok. Just revoke the property’s licence and ensure the landlord/lady is black marked and never works in the pub game again

I take you didnt see The latest daily update ?

They are closing all down as from tonight!

The government are working hand in hand with all those effected and the decision was to close down .

Hopefully now people will realise the only way we are going to beat this is by avoiding all unnecessary contact with people where possible

If you think shutting pubs is going to stop people socialising you are wrong. The wealthy elite will all be pissing themselves laughing at the control they have over the rest of us. China is over it, Italy is a basket case of a country with a dreadful health service. Israel is providing the USA with 10 million doses of hydroxychloroquine a month which Austarlia, New Zealand, Korea and China (as well as France) have said it stops the virus from multiplying. It's like you all want it to be bad so you can virtue signal to the world how great you are. Maybe you are just thick? 8000 people died in the UK last year because of flu complications. Are you going to meet people that sneeze from now on? Probably not, most on here don't meet anyway! lol

It’s been estimated that about 80% of people will get it, and actually, it’s a good thing, means we have what’s known as “herd immunity” As long as they have no underlying health issues then they should be fine. The only reason we’re being told to socially distance is to delay the spread and stop the NHS being overwhelmed as it’s still dealing with the usual winter illnesses etc at the moment.

I won’t be changing the way I go about my daily business, I’m in a job where I can’t anyway, for example I’ve just spent the last week living in a small room with 20 other blokes. If anything, I’ll avoid seeing my older relatives for the duration. I’m a (relatively) young and fit individual, more than capable of dealing with the virus should I be exposed to it.

You are 100% correct. That is what all this is about and there is nothing wrong with that. But when people in rural Scotland are getting treated like those living in London it is madness. A decent sized field in Ayrshire (say 150 acres) would have over 10,000 people on it during an average day in London and many more at peak times around King's Cross and other busy places. It is disproportionate and those on here trying to guilt people that are meeting 1 to 1 are misguided (I am being nice). Normally all you Scottish go mad if the English start telling you what to do.

But seriously, this isn't a joke people are dying all over the world and it's on our doorstep!!!

And no I'm not overreacting "

Nope you're right! The more people you come into contact with, the more you increase your chances of viral load and you'll likely die. This is not a drill!

"Everyone will get it regardless, it's just matter of time and how our bodies deal with it, some it will be a slight cold, maybe a flu and then some get corona your body is the only self defense weapon now as there's no vaccines to rely on .

This is utterly stupid!!!! Don't follow this selfish advice.

"

"It’s been estimated that about 80% of people will get it, and actually, it’s a good thing, means we have what’s known as “herd immunity” As long as they have no underlying health issues then they should be fine.

"

This is utter bullshit. Stop spreading crap, makes you wonder what else you're spreading

"If you think shutting pubs is going to stop people socialising you are wrong. Probably not, most on here don't meet anyway! lol"

Yeah and you'll be remembered as a disease spreader. Vile

"Sighs... sometimes I think Mother Nature looks at her work and thinks... nah design fault, how do I sort that... covid-19 should do nicely

It's a pity it wipes out the vulnerable and not the total roasters.

Was thinking the same thing "

I thought that's what they had designed the block button for

Some people have no idea, no brain, no conscience. Like they'll think about it for about 2 seconds and settle on their opinion and that's that. Same idiots on every post with the same lack of reason about any given topic.

Stay in, if not for yourself, for the rest of people you may pass it on to - total sociopaths.

That was last week. Not meeting now but still going to work, walking dogs and picking bits up from the corner shop.
