Am I going senile or was fab a friendlier place in the past?
Or have we finally reached the tipping point where everyone is so jaded and cynical they think everyone else is an asshole by default now?
The judgemental, rude and holier-than-thou attitudes really do astound me sometimes.
Can’t we go back to when everyone was nice and kind to each other and tolerant of others? Or have those days long gone?

Ultimately only you can decide to allow people to upset you or not.
Once you make that choice it gets better.
Sadly people can be horrible when they are hiding behind a screen. Block and move on. Life is too short to give them headspace |

Oh you know me, I don’t let people get to me. I just ignore them.
It just seems there are more of them and my foggy old man memory doesn’t remember it being as bad as it is now |

I agree with you. I think people are just arseholes these days.
Some are not before I get stoned!
However, I was always brought up to treat people the way I’d like to be treated and I will stay that way.

I'm still a newbie here I suppose, but the same thread pops up with cyclic regularity on every forum I've been on since the 90s.
Attitudes shift, what was cool becomes uncool and vice versa, characters come and go - there's lots of reasons why communities mutate, and it's often the veterans lamenting the "old days" who are most toxic due to stubborn reluctance to adapt. You only have to read the weary, tired replies to the same questions popping up from enthusiastic new members (on any forum) to see this in action. |

This place is no different from anything else in this world, its a continuous evolution.

It’s not about wanting the old days back, or wanting to turn back time, or even not being able to accept that life moves on.
It’s wondering why people have to be so negative and nasty. I see it in status updates ALL day and night. People moaning about others being nasty, others moaning how everyone is an asshole.
There has to be a reason for it - i genuinely don’t remember EVER seeing this many people complaining about it.
But then I guess this just proves my point.

I’d compare it to driving I’m pretty sure most would say the amount of incidences of road rage wee see has increased as most folk are only interested in their own rush to get where they want to go . Jumping lanes , cutting folk up all just to get one car in front in the queue . |

I would ALWAYS say things to people’s faces if I post it online.
I’ve no filter and couldn’t care less. If I get a smack in the mouth for it then so be it - it just proves that the other person is t mature enough to have a grown up debate.
As for this thread - I’ve asked for it to be removed.
It was a general observation that has yet again descended into digs at each other.
And that’s proved my point entirely.

It's the same as everything nowadays everyone seems to want things now and feel it's their god given right to it and to fuck with anyone else, and then get all pissy when they don't get what they want and throw their toys out the pram, even just 10 years ago people spent more time talking and being nice even if just to get what they want and then ghosting but the art of that is dead now lol  |
