most fundamental aspects |
Most of my best times have been out of Scotland at Download Festival.
However THE best, The Boss, was in Glasgow seeing Springsteen. He is by far the hardest working artist and true to form, overran his time and the venue’s curfew. |

Saw Springsteen in Manchester a few years back incredible
My best would be very difficult as I have seen most rock stars since the 70’s
Stand out would be Queen at the Apollo 1979’ish just for the bragging rights of seeing Freddie live although I did see them again at Wembley
Due to both mine and my cousins jobs I’ve been backstage at a shitload of gigs since 1976 and met majority of my idols so it would be very difficult to pick one act
As growing up Queen were my favourite band I would say seeing them live would be the biggest highlight |

"Nice.. Love Peter Gabriel"
Yeah it was a fantastic gig, in two halves. The first a collection of his previous solo work, so all the usuals were in there The second half was the entire "So" album as it was So's 25th anniversary.
As a bonus they released a double CD of the gig, so always got that to listen to and reminisce. |

That's a tough choice. I've so many favourites. Most memorable but could be with rose tinted glasses because I was only a kid but the Foo Fighters Barrowlands '95 their first gig in Scotland. As far as big concerts probably Pearl Jam Hyde park 2009 or 10 maybe. Oh oh or red hot chili peppers Glasgow green with Foo Fighters, queens of the stone age, PJ Harvey, Electric six and the distillers supporting and it was scorching hot that day. In fact so was the pearl jam one.... Now I'm thinking about it I could go all night I just can't choose. |

"Gosh, totally forgot about the Beastie Boys gig at the Barrow lands in 86 (I think).. Now, that was mental haha"
Beasties at the Barras would have been nuts! Caught them at SECC in 99. Think that is on YouTube
Other than that best gig i think is Depeche Mode at the Barras or Dillinger Escape Plan at the Garage just for how ferocious and flawless they were at the same time. |

"Been a few great gigs but the best is yet to come ....June 2020..Greenday/weezer/Fallout Boy in Glasgow green "
Dont mess up the green, Were there the next day for GnR and would prefer not to have to wear wellies in the middle of June.
As for best Scottish gig thats a hard one
Think Stiff Little Fingers at the Magnum in Irvine 2006 just pips it

"Nick Cave at Barrowlands about 5 years ago and Skunk Anansie last year are two that leap to mind."
Skunk anansie are a good tight band but Nick Cave never lets you down, always a great set, especially festivals. |
