So I have a friend..  he likes the look of a lady from Fab by her pictures on show and a very articulate profile bio, however, reading her profile, as he always does with all profiles, she requests a face picture with any initial message. Due to the nature of his job he cannot send a face picture and for this reason would not ask for one in return either. He would happily meet her dependant on how any conversations may progress should he ever get the chance and see from there if there is a mutual attraction. If no mutual attraction then it's still only been an hour of your time for a coffee that's been lost.
So does he, message her and explain but obviously breaking the first rule of Fab, reading a profile.
Not message as he encloses no face picture
Send a wink , where she will probably ignore as her profile does not mention sending a wink.
My friend is looking for suggestions from ladies from Fab who prefer to have face pics in the first message and whether compromises are ever made.

Personally I'd never send a face picture with a first message - I feel the need to build up a good rapport and some trust first - but I have had long conversations with people who did request one straight off. I've learnt people don't always stick rigidly to their terms and conditions. I'd never expect anyone to meet me without having seen my face, though.
If your friend trusts someone enough to meet them face-to-face, then surely he should trust them enough with a picture. Maybe he should test the water explaining that he doesn't do face pictures straight off - don't use the rather lame, job excuse, though - and attempt to woo her with his words. What's the worst that could happen? If she doesn't reply, he'll know why, and will realise she's not for him despite her CV looking impressive. |

I wouldn't send a face pic in the first message. Just the same as I wouldn't expect a woman to send me her face pic in the first message. I think any woman demanding a face pic in the first message is.... probably shouldn't say any more. Cant be annoyed with the hate mail. lol. |

Surely meeting blind is even more risky !... You could be meeting a colleague or Family member for all you know so surely face pics would eliminate that from happening.

Nah I get that some people genuinely can't share facepics due to a job. Working with kids as a teacher or youth worker you can't have stuff like that up there publicaly, even someone who has a certain role in an organisation where they speak or get recorded, you're not allowed this type of stuff. But unfortunately it's a risk you got to take if you want to get the girl. I request facepics because I don't want to waste my time, if someone doesn't want to do it on fab I suggest adding me on Snapchat to just confirm who you are.

I know two people, one of whom is still on here, who have been threatened with blackm*il or downright nastiness for no reason, with threats of pics shared in the local community. The law is of course on your side, but it's something that's always in the back of my mind. If someone is not interested in compromising, or protecting their own discretion, they can fuck off. Having been on fab since day 1 practically I've found most ladies will not meet blind why would they when there are soo many guys to choose from who don't have a problem sending a face pic ..as for the "can't send because of job" I see that as a bullsh*t cop out (Just my opinion)..we all have jobs ..by all means don't send with first message ..I never have (apart from face pic friday) but you need to be prepared to take a chance at some point of chatting if you want to have a chance of being remotely successful  |

If the message is articulate enough and the "friend" has read her bio and makes reference to it she may well be curious, failing that is she goes to socials then that's another way to. Potentially get that initial conversation going by attending the same ones |

Teachers can't send someone a face picture? How do they ever get passports or driving licenses?
I'd never include nudity in the same picture as my face, so why does it matter?
The only thing I don't like is the site watermark on my face picture, which links an entirely innocuous image to adult content. |

to be that cagey about pics I'd say your more attached than work ethics. Met all sorts on here. Doctors nurses teachers lawyers barristers cleaners your average Joe and all sent pics, no one in my eyes can use work as an excuse. If it's that bad why be here |

Not sending face picture before a meet would almost always be a non started for me; the work excuse is rubbish, I've had enhanced disclosure and my activities on swingers sites didn't come up at any point.
Only time I'd do it would be if a good friend set it up as a blind date.

Just realised that didn't answer the original post, he could message her explaining that he isn't comfortable sending a face picture due to work and see if she thinks thats a good enough reason or he could just walk away and not contact her.

Yup I've said this before as well about the watermark, folk can screenshot as many WhatsApp or kik convoys as they like and pics on there mean nothing unless you've got your face and bits out together but on here that Mark is there, even so the best way is just to say no. I totally respect folks choices for refusing to send pics |

When I was nice and single many years ago I met a guy and we were together 2half years and I had a very high profile job in a seriously male dominated environment, roll on us splitting up and threats to send my work compromising pics videos etc, guaranteed any promotions or anything I got wouldn't be accounted for my hard work, ambition and Intellengence! Nope I'd be another one who screwed her way up! After all I mustn't have any morals to be on a site like this!! Yes that's how people think Anyhow the police dealt with him, but as they say once bitten twice shy. I think it's incredibly brave of folk to not care but it's also incredibly naive to think this sort of thing wouldn't affect anyone's personal and professional lives |
