Nothing says I love you more than a pound land ring...

Given its approaching single awareness day, poundland are actively marketing their £1 placemarker engagement rings. This year multi purpose given its a leap year and us girls can pop the question.

My friends have developed a cunning plan to get me off the shelf. I should buy a few and offer them out. Surely someone will want me! I have such lovely friends

However, would you be impressed with this gesture as a small romantic novelty until you can choose a ring together, or would you just see your partner as a cheap skate?

If I was ever to get engaged, I quite fancy marking it with something less traditional than an expensive stone

I didnt have an engagement ring when I got engaged. Infact didn't even have a proper wedding ring.

It's not something that would be important to me now.

E.K . Glasgow

I’d be happier with one from a bag of haribos . I’m available as a bridesmaid for any impromptu weddings if required too .

Trust me, never go near a cheap ring.

Just asking for a nasty rash.

I think its a good idea as long as its symbolic and then you choose the ring together.

Slightly better than a haribo ring!

Funny you should say that, my ex and his then gf used a haribo ring as a sign of their engagement while she was trying to put her husband out the family home!!

For us, it's not about the jewelry. We don't wear rings, although we did exchange them at our wedding. He didn't have a ring when he proposed and I didn't care.
