What is the traditional thing people do on Hogmanay in your country/place?
Where I come from is to wear red underwear on the last day of the year: it is meant to bring good luck |

"My dad always said your first footer had to be darkhaired and had to have a lump of coal, black bun and whiskey for the hosts "

Open front and back doors as other have said.
Also make sure all rubbish has to be out the house and placed in the bin.
When we were young we would listen for the ships on the Clyde give it laldy with their horns ( that's one for the memory bank as that'll never be heard again) |

I have a similar tradition. On the last day of the year I wear a kilt but with no underwear |
