Privileged or not, she has worked hard her entire life. All those royal duties, hospital openings, state visits do not look like much fun to me. She has always had to watch what she says, her every move scrutinized. I hope I am still going as strong as her when I am her age, but hers is not a life I would like to lead |

Yes she works hard. She travels all over the place, meeting people, shaking hands as you call it and it must be fucking tiring. She never lets people down. She never says "oh fuck I can't be bothered to go to this dinner tonight, sitting next to someone I hate but have to act like I like because I am the Queen and it is my duty but oh hell I have been out opening hospitals all day and I just want an early night". She has done tireless amounts for charity. She has not retired. What do you think you will be doing at her age? Anyone that thinks she does not work hard has clearly not paid attention. She was even a landgirl during ww2, because other girls were being asked to. Pretty sure her privilege could have got her out of that. But she wanted to do it. I have a lot of admiration for her |

Does the queen not get a red box everyday with paperwork that she has to spent about 4hours everyday doing? She is long past retiring age and she will put in a fair shift everyday.
What we pay in tax is peanuts compared to the revenue the royals bring in tourism and foreign business. |

The queen costs the tax payer less than the benefit scroungers in our society cost us. Do you have the same opinion on them?
Yes she has had a privileged life but it’s one that comes with the lack of freedoms that we enjoy. She can’t just take a walk down to the local supermarket etc. She also does work very hard to make appointments and for a woman of her age I’m sure it’s a bit of an effort.

It must be hard to deal with all the assorted arses she has had to be pleasant to. Imagine being 90 odd and having to listen to Trump and his banality... she must despair as most of us already do at the never ending bull from assorted political parties. I would destest having her life, it maybe means no worries on paying the bills but nothing else about it appeals even slightly.
Oh and for all you naysayers she is the head of our Government and has earned all of the plaudits she is due for an almost blameless time in her duties... Unlike every Prime Minister and First Ministers who have been various chancers, sex pests and war mongers  |

Never met one tourist that said they've came Britian to see the Queen. They come here on holiday to see the sights not the Queen,99.9% of tourists will never have seen her. I live here and I've never seen her. |

I've been to Buckingham palace a few times and never could I get near because of tourists. Often japanese! You just have to look at the visitor numbers of Buckingham palace, Windsor castle, Balmoral. The pomp and pageantry of horse guards parade. Always packed, every day. The fact you may or may not have met a tourist interested in the monarchy becomes irrelevant. The proof is in the numbers. |
