My kids werent off school today but they will have 2 weeks off in a week or so . . .

Last year I was driven up the wall with all the fighting between my kids so I filled a couple of the kitchen cupboards with art stuff from cheap shops (the works) got loads of paper card and paints for the youngest cos she loves drawing.

Also got sequins, stick on gems, feathers and googly eyes!!

Last time it was raining and my kids were beating each other within an inch of their lives I pulled them both into the living room sat them at the dining table with newspaper on it handed them a candle each and told them "paint it stick things to it I dont care but if you make one sound you are soooo grounded for the rest of the year!!"

It worked and I have lovely hand decorated candles . . .

Ohh meant to add when I bought all the art stuff I was fairly poor so I just got a couple of things each time I was out shopping and it soon added up, also it doesnt have to be proper art shop stuff for kids unless they are really into it.
