First off I really don't like the idea of being called Daddy. It kind of weirds me out. But I see loads of women's and couples profiles using the term quite a lot. I put a status up asking others thoughts on it and I wasn't alone. It got me thinking. I get the impression there's more women like this term than men. Or am I in a minority that thinks this is a turn off?

It’s not for me tbh but a lot of people like it and it’s a big thing in the kink scene but everyone has different views, for me personally it’s just like the sugar daddy thing and I can’t get old men using cash to attract younger women out my head, I even hate the saying who’s your daddy lol

Been discussed to death on here.

Some like it and some don’t, although the ones who don’t, usually have absolutely no understanding of what a DDlg dynamic actually is.

There are loads of people out there in the general population who would use the words “creepy” and “wrong” to describe all of you for being interested in swinging. There’s no need for any of you to extend that close minded attitude to others in our own scene.

I’m not sure you, as an outsider to the relationship, can really determine how ‘far’ the dynamic should go. Unless one of the partner’s actually discusses their discomfort of the relationship with you. Then that’s abuse. But that is really not exclusive to relationships where one person is called daddy and it’s a shame that that is what you associate the term with.

I know the person very well and have tried to help break the fear cycle however sadly they keep returning. The term in this instance is his sign of dominance but as you say it’s their relationship and I’ll help and support where and when I can but know when to also but out.

Comparing the use of the term and the context it gets used to the activities of Glitter and Saville is so narrow minded and wide of the mark and quite insulting to those I guess who find it a turn on. For a site that claims to be full of liberal minded people, these forums can really show some up as anything but. Again..just my opinion though.

Oh bless you sweepea I'm sorry I voiced an opinion you didn't agree with. You called me out as is your right and then called me anything but Liberal but I'm not allowed to voice my opinion????

I don't like that term and I find it very distasteful but each to their own etc that's my opinion right??? Or is it that my opinion is different than your opinion and that makes mine wrong in your eyes ?

I'd suggest you're the one who isn't very Liberal by calling out someone because they have a different idea to you. There are many words to describe people who don't listen to others views and only portray their views as correct. I'll make it simple for you hun I've done my bit for Queen and Country I've laid down everything that is important and risked it all and if my opinion upsets you then I suggest you try and take on someone with a weaker will than I have.

You have your opinion, I have mine, no problem with that, thats what the forum should be for. I was merely conveying my opinion that the use of the term among consenting adults does not relate to any form of child abuse, you imply otherwise. Your opinion, thats fine, no need for anyone to get upset.

For almost every sexual preference there will be someone that finds it repugnant. An extreme example would someone who finds any sexual activity averse. Therefore regardless of what one finds arousing (even if within the confines of legality and consent) there will always be others who do not find it so. That is the right of each individual. The key issues are legality, consent and mutual pleasure. Adults should be able to express preference either way freely and civilly. Just my opinion

"This is one of the few things I refuse to put on the anklets i make. One customer has asked for it but i am disgusted by it in all honesty.

But whore and slut is fine? "

To me it is so I am happy to sell those. SLUT is also my biggest seller. Which does suprise me.

I wouldn’t call it disgusting as I’m not being judgemental.

It’s not for me but many would say our lifestyle choice is disgusting, which clearly it’s not to us.

Unfortunately most “swingers” can’t see the irony in them shaming others for their sexual interests.

Using words like disgusting and creepy to describe something you know absolutely nothing about in a desperate attempt to put yourself above others in the pecking order is pathetic.

It’s actually quite embarrassing reading some of the opinions on this thread to be honest. Consenting adults can do whatever the f**k they like in the privacy of their own bedroom, get a life.

"That's a big turn off and just weird. I certainly think it's a bit creepy too especially if the guy you're with isn't even old enough to be your daddy. Just the thought of being with a man old enough to be your dad is even creepier. Just my opinion x"

Dont be silly. You can not call someone creepy cos they fall in love with someone older. My ex was much older but once upon a time i loved him to bits and had 2 children with him. Does that make me a creep?. The daddy senario is not my thing but know someone who is happy in this situation. As long ad they are happy who are we to judge.

"Creepy as fuck.......

Seconded. Very glitter Saville esque

Not just your opinion

There's a difference between expressing that something isn't to your taste and shaming others.

I wouldn't say so, most people have just said it makes them uncomfortable.

I understand you feel insulted but just because someone hasn't tried something doesn't mean they don't have a clue or are having a go. I don't have any interest in watersports, the idea of peeing on someone or someone peeing on me is pretty gross to me so I would not examine it further. But I don't consider myself better than people who do enjoy it.

Hope that makes sense, I don't think I'm wording it right but that's the general gist.

You need to have another read of this thread Leiaorgana if you honestly think no one is kink shaming here.

comparing those who take part in a certain kink to convicted paedophiles is a disgusting attempt to shame others for what they’re into and that’s just one example from above.

Interesting outlook.

Then I hope you will consider that the next time someone voices the opinion that guys dressing up as women are creepy and sick. Because outside your sheltered little fab world you know there are plenty. I would have hoped that would make you more tolerant towards the kinks of others.

Yep, pretty sure I'm real. The majority of people on this thread didn't say that, and I didn't support the person that did, I very much disagree with them and found that comment distasteful.

I understand you feel very defensive about your interest, but claiming everyone on this thread is having a pop and being superior is wrong.

The majority of people on this thread did actually make a comment belittling others kink and therefore shaming them.

At no point did I claim that “everyone” was having a pop but I did chose to highlight those who’s attitude is disgusting while you decided to just paint brush over that rather than calling it out.

Who said it’s my interest? I certainly haven’t said that in any of my comments. I will defend rigorously anyone’s right to their own sexual interests as long as it’s between consenting adults, just in the same way I will defend anyone’s right to choose or exist in their own sexuality, gender, religion, race or relationship status.

Shaming others for their own choices as so many have done on this thread is a very dangerous path to be going down and your attempts to white wash that are just as dangerous too.

Not whitewashing anything, I'm saying not everyone should be tarred with the same brush. Those people who made comments regarding Saville and Glitter as not the same as those people like myself who've said 'not for me' and they don't have my support, but will also not change their mind or withdraw their comments. Therefore I choose to ignore them.

With regard to it being your interest, you were aggressively defensive about it so it seemed it was something you enjoyed, I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought that.

Your point regarding defending people's rights to do and be whoever they are are shared, so that's irrelevant.

There will always be people on here who will say things to shock, or to create a stir, and perhaps get a kick out of it, that will never change. Either because they enjoy doing it or they genuinely believe it, I don't know. No one with any common sense believes that consenting adults sharing a kink equates to child abuse, and if they do they should give their heads a wobble.

"First off I really don't like the idea of being called Daddy. It kind of weirds me out. But I see loads of women's and couples profiles using the term quite a lot. I put a status up asking others thoughts on it and I wasn't alone. It got me thinking. I get the impression there's more women like this term than men. Or am I in a minority that thinks this is a turn off?"

In the right setting with the right partner, ie. a consenting adult, I love it. It's incredibly hot. But maybe that's because, as a well adjusted, open-minded, mature adult, I'm able to differentiate between a consenting adult and a minor.

That's cool. Just to be clear though that isn't what I was referring to. I just don't want to be called Daddy. Not my thing. Just it seems a few on here have been getting themselves in to arguments and really bothered by this thread. My main reason for this post was to see if the preference was more from a female point of view or a male because I was thinking that it was. Didnt seem that way though pretty even I think. I also wondered if I was in a minority, like am I missing something. But I dont think I am. Everyone has what they like and don't like and that's cool. Just not for me.
