If its a one time visit, then CJ's is the best option, as there is no membership fee to pay.
If the other clubs did a try before you join style of thing (I know it would be hard to administer it) it may encourage people to try them out.

"If you’ve been to any club down south or on the continent
You’ll be bitterly disappointed by the Scottish clubs
But go and make your own mind up "
I beg to differ. Yes the purpose build facilities may be slightly better however the etiquette from Scottish club goers is far better than those on the continent.
Many a time hubby has had to physically stop advancements from guys who we don't want to play with with, where as a "no thanks"
Is all that's required.

"Cjs regulars will say cjs, After 8 regulars will say... kudos regulars will say... I'd say go along to each n decide for yourself
K"
This. A lot of people will prefer to go to the club that is most local to them. As I live in Dundee it's all the same to me between Edinburgh and Glasgow, distance wise.
Personally I prefer CJs due to space and comfort, as well as the clientele, as single guys are capped at CJs but are not at After8.
The only way to know which is best for you is to try them. |

"Really depends on what part of Scotland you are visiting and which club is closer.
To correct a statement made by someone on this post, single guys can and will be capped at the after eight club "
Really? What is the cap? |

That is judged on the night, how many people are in etc. As it's a members club people don't contact beforehand if they are coming but I believe you know this already |

Ah ok, so not really a cap as such then, just stopped when it's full. CJs operate a pre-booking list, that's what I was meaning |

Yeah we are aware of CJs pre booking as we have been and enjoyed ourselves
So but you are going to have to elaborate on the "when full" statement |

I mean that when I went the single men far outnumbered the single ladies and the couples, as it's not a big place eventually they would have to stop letting them in. I don't mean crammed in like sardines. From other threads on here other people have commented on it being busy with mostly males on nights they have attended.
Aberdeen had a policy of couples and ladies only, with the exception of a few regular single males. Kudos I believe doesn't restrict males, but I might be wrong on that. |

Lol enough said, on this post and others your opinion and attitude to clubs other than CJs is clear |

In terms of "When full" ALL buildings have a maximum capacity limit that they're allowed, not matter what actually goes on inside it.
It's mainly for Health & Safety /Fire Evacuation reasons.
The clubs will be aware of this number and stick to it as much as possible. Yea they may flaunt it at times, but they'll stick to it as much as possible.

We like both. Ask not what a club can do for you but what you can do for your club. We love the space and verity in cj’s but love the intimacy of after 8. But we find it’s peoples own attitudes that make or break their own night. I’d suggest favour the club in the city you visit. |

Only ever been to After8 and have found it to be a great night with lots of friendly, approachable people who make this newbie to the scene very welcome and comfortable. Staff are fantastic and always up for a laugh but look after the customers well. |

We have been to both and really enjoy both clubs. Like said before it’s the people in the club that make the night. We have never had a bad night in either of the clubs and would recommend either to anyone

Is it? Well, I'll clear it up so there's absolutely no doubt.
I don't go to clubs I don't like, you'll find that's the same for everyone.
After8 is out as I didn't enjoy my experience - I felt uncomfortable and didn't enjoy being harassed.
I haven't been to Kudos so I don't know what that's like, but I have many reservations about it and have not seen anything to make me attend, as yet. That's not to say I won't in future, but not for now.
I enjoyed Aberdeen and attended regularly, sadly that's now closed.
I also enjoyed my visit to Infusion but Blackpool is a little far to go just for a saturday night. We have yet to get to any other English clubs but have a few on the list to try.
Which leaves CJs as a regular venue, where I've enjoyed every visit, so it's common sense that's the club I would frequent most.
Hope that helps |
