Just something a little different to chat about.
I love to cook for someone or or various peeps even.
Something I've fell into over the years and found such enjoyment from.
I'm told it's not every guy who likes to cook ect so open discussion please. And if anyone likes then say what you feel is the best thing you cook. |

Very seldom do i cook. Tonight i had a tin of beans for dinner and yesterday i had pate on toast. This is not because i can not cook but mainly because i dont like being stuck in the kitchen slaving over an cooket. I do however make lovely lentil soup. |

Mainly veggie stuff for me ..curries, pasta, "every veg in the fridge soup"...occasional wee bit of salmon. Mr and the kids eat meat though so I'll cook that for them though I have mixed responses with that. Came to the conclusion I'm not a shite cook they're just fussy bastards! |

I personally like to get some nice quality chicken breasts, butterfly them and stuff with black pudding in wee parcels.
Then do a pepper sauce and a proper mash with butter and cream. That's a treat meal....
But I've several healthy yet tasty meals also.
Great replies!! Thanks |

My dad is a very good cook and so is my oldest son.
I love cooking and was lucky to be in the kitchen with my Afro-Caribbean grans when I grew up. So I picked up a thing or two
And I like to experiment particularly with baking.

French grain mustard* and the broth is apple, not the sausage. |

Ooh! I like jerk chicken although it is from Jamaica. We don't have it/cook it in the French Caribbean islands but have something close |

Invest in a slow cooker that way you have a decent meal and less time in the kitchen x |

When I want a quick lazy meal its curry noodles with 2 chopped chicken breasts and a buttered roll. Or beans with tuna mixed through it on toast.
Chillie tonight with rice noodles.
Rice cakes with tuna or chicken mayo for my middle of night snacks. |

My Mum taught me to cook, her principal was good basic food but don’t be afraid to switch it up, I love cooking but I’m no chef, friends and family love it mostly and I have sons who are fab (no pun intended ) in the kitchen. Just enjoy together |

"Home cooking for me.
However, on the health side, I'm getting a bit concerned when baking, by the amount of sugar required by the average cake recipe, so that is being reduced."
You should try using light brown sugar, you don't have to use as much. Sweet cinnamon powder and vanilla essence adds to the sweetness too. So you can cut the refined sugar.

"Ok - what about the best snack to cook ?
For me - chicken flavoured super noodles on toast every time "
The best snacks require no cooking - I always have cheese slices, mini hot dogs, and jars of olives and sundried tomatoes in the fridge. Mostly carb free, so ideal for me as a snack.
