The best book I've read in a long time and the first for years I've read in one day... hysterically funny and heartbreakingly sad in places. If you haven't read it - make it your mission to do so!
It also fills you with pride and fear for our NHS... |

"Such a good book. I work in healthcare so found it particularly relatable!!!"
Yes! I have family and friends in healthcare too so got the frustrations and the joy and the "gallows humour" - goes hand in fist with any emergency service I think |

"not read this yet but The Naked Surgeon was very interesting - glad I read it after my child had an operation "
If it's anything like this one it's a real insight... I've been in at least one of his medical emergencies but thanks to the wonderful NHS staff at no time felt in danger so I can empathise with your thoughts |

You said.."thanks to the wonderful NHS staff".
Do you mean at that particular moment in time ? or is that an overview of NHS staff in general?

I didn't say that, you asked in general and in general it's a marvellous institution the envy of the rest of the world. It's understaffed and underfunded and medical staff are human so yes sometimes mistakes are made but in GENERAL it's fucking fantastic. Read the book, you might just agree |

It’s an insight into how it works both the fantastic and the fallible, a very human one |

"As someone who works in NHS it’s a bloody good read "
I have several friends and family who work for the NHS too, yes agreed. I thought it was brilliant, warts and all, human compassion, frustration, dedication and so much more |
