CLIC Sargent - Cancer and Leukemia In

Children.

I have taken the below from the official website because we do so much it would take ages to type it all out.

Have a look at the official website it has lots of information about the impact of childhood cancer and has stories of familes we have supported. CLIC Sargent is a very important charity and is a lifeline to some of the families. I know that in the highlands it is a great strain for the familes as some of them live so far away from the hospitals that 1 parent has to give up work to be with a child that is recieving treatment.

Every day, 10 children and young people in the UK hear the shocking news they have cancer. Treatment normally starts immediately, is often given many miles from home and can last for up to three years. Being diagnosed with cancer is a frightening experience and the emotional, practical and financial implications of treatment are intensely challenging for the whole family.

CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families. We provide clinical, practical, financial and emotional support to help them cope with cancer and get the most out of life. We are there from diagnosis onwards and aim to help the whole family deal with the impact of cancer and its treatment, life after treatment and, in some cases, bereavement.

Every child or young person with cancer has a different experience. It also affects the whole family in many different ways. We take the time to understand every child, young person and family we help to ensure the support they receive is tailored to their unique and individual needs.

We provide clinical, practical and emotional support to children and young people with cancer, and their families

We give financial support including grants and benefits information to children and young people with cancer to help deal with the financial impact of cancer

We provide free ‘Home from Home’ accommodation close to specialist hospitals, so that families can be close to their children during treatment

We offer free breaks so that families can spend time together, with the support of our care professionals, away from the everyday challenges of childhood cancer

We provide children, young people and families with a wide range of valuable information on childhood cancer and its impact

We campaign and influence others to raise awareness of the needs of children and young people with cancer and to improve the support they receive

Quirky, having researched this brilliant charity for a college project, i fully believe that Clic Sargent, is a very very worthwhile organisation for parents & children, alike- the horror of children's cancer must be un-imaginable, unless you know someone who has been through it, so im fully in support of this charity, through jaz & davy organising this event

other option we have is ten pin bowling and lazer quest in the afternoon. Folk these socials are run for you all to enjoy let us know what you want. Have already found a great venue for the evening now just the afternoon stuff and dj to sort out.

Once we know which would be better price wise too as go-carting is very expensive for most then we will work out prices and let everyone know. Payment will be by paypal so please if you have not got one set it up now and be ready lol.
