Just wondering what other single males average ratio is for messages sent to replies received- that's to couples and single females? I have sent about 25 messages, 5 replies and two promising contacts, over a 4 week period......is that average or what for a single male? |

Mike sometimes you will not get a reply,it's just part of the site im afraid.I have sent messages to couples/singles to compliment them on there photos and my message was read and deleted..maybe they thought i was after something else.
Too many single guys on the site have acted like cavemen and spoiled what should be a great site and a fun place to meet people. |

I would say I get one person responding for every 20 or 30 messages sent. That's not me complaining btw, just stating facts. Still managed meets and talked to some decent folk too.
The only one that annoys me is when I put some real effort into a message and it is instantly (within a minute of receipt) deleted. I understand why this happens, but it does draw a brief "aw whit" from me if I'm honest. |

What makes it worse is when I got an unsolicited email from a woman, who once received a non offensive thank you email, blocked me. Now has left the site. What was the point?
I think this site helps to introduce you to some brilliant people but you need to wade through the chaff. |

I've never monitored it, indeed never busied myself with multi-sends, had a browse, read profile, sent an introductory message and like any, hoped for the best.
With the usual pre-send checks of course, age-limit, mutual interests (i know we are all swingers and thats automatically mutual),lifes too short to ponder and dwell on the delete's.

Ratio of replies is very low. I put a bit of effort into each message and get a bit dis-spirited when they are instantly deleted.
I know women get loads of emails but a simple one liner back wouldn't hurt especially if it is obvious that time has been spent on it. |

Replying to Messages i must say i always do even if its just to Hello ..
I do think its so hard for Guys on this site so don't see any harm saying hello .
I will say i will then check the guys profile and if is miles away and to young or Married i will say to them and mostly up till now not had to many that had a problem with me being Honest with them ..
I will also say i did have a guy from Elgin 44yrs who did go on to be very abusive at one point he was blocked for his trouble but came back next day with a new profile again being abusive so again blocked ..
It worked out he asked me to meet i said no but he had booked a hotel and he was pissed off at me for saying NO to him xx
So i do understand your problems hope it dident put you off Fab Mistery xxxx  |

Aw, many thanks to everyone of you who has taken the trouble to respond, I do appreciate it. It looks, overall that single men have to pedal twice as hard to get the wheels to turn, and have to accept more non-replies as being par for the course. I have begun to learn to not take it personally, and just move on, keep doing the right things by reading the profiles carefully, and being polite, respectful and courteous. I did try a bit of humour, but that didn't seem to work very well, I guess everyone to their own taste. Thanks again to all, and I'm sure I'll find the right people at the right time. Cheers.xx |
