I'm visiting Edinburgh this week for the first time. Staying very central. What are your tips for things to do?
Particulary scenic/historic walks, bookshops, record stores and all things foodie!

There's Calton Hill, walk up the monument, you'll get great views. The Scott Monument too in Princes Street Gardens. There's also the sightseeing buses which take you different yours. Food wise take your pick, lots of great places and there's also the Grassmarket, lots of lovely pubs down there. There's lots to do. I particularly recommend going to the natural history museum too. Have fun x |

"Check out all the closes off the high street
Very interesting "
Some great shops and eatery’s in the closes as well.
If I’m in any new city I tend to speak to folk in the uni bars as they have a good handle on how to have a decent night. Worked for me so far and I suspect Edinburgh is the same for a night out. |

If you're a meat eater, then Oink is worth a visit. Both shops are easy to walk to from anywhere in the centre of town, but the one at Victoria Street is just off the Grass Market.
Also worth a trip for a nice coffee is Brew Lab. Its a bit dearer, but well worth it.

"Just say it. Anyone fancy a meet in Edinburgh. Simple. Lol.
I'm sure there's more to see in the city than just my hotel room " could think of worse places |
