well - im a Glasgow person - but willing to risk east coast, if more people are wanting edinburgh.
Glasgow first choice though... so long as venue is good and has a dancefloor! |

"haha Edinburgh or Glasgow lol let me guess Glasgow lol???"
Nope, lol
Either is good for us. Edinburgh would mean we need to stay at a hotel.
That would be terrible news
Ermmmm...... Edinburgh is good for us. lol |

As far as i am concerned either are optional so far but obviously will be better when i know the date to ensure i am indeed free... as for venue, either city is similar in distance from me and the ever so gorgeous Quirky one so.... either will do and will certainly be there..... |

Ok both options seem popular hmmmmmm
Glasgow date is bang in holiday season so we might not get the same number..due to summer holidays.
Edinburgh is slghtly more expensive and more people will have to travel.
hmmmmmmm |

Had great nights in both Glasgow and Edinburgh ,so both would suit ,however Edinburgh ,would be good for us, provided you can attract the numbers , in the past, socials have been abit hit and miss , no disrespect to anyone who has organised them ,just getting the folk to turn up lol erm that seems to be a running thing at the moment ,ref the bunny ball ,then again thats fife |

Problem with the Glasgow date is that its in the school holidays… and parents may of used up theie babysitting tokens during the week and struggle to get sitters for weekends?
Thats what I think anyway.
The date in Edinburgh, as said, is at the end of the month and right after pay day for many.

Edinburgh is good for me time wise and travelling wise, but I have been known to venture over to Glasgow too. So option 2 first choice and option 1 second choice. |

"glasgow tis may b a stupid question but why cant both b done "
Cos we would need 140 people + to cover costs, have 2 socials in a short time and less people will go.
As the venues we are looking at charge quite a lot for room hire etc then we do need a good turn out.

"remember to hold an event in Edinburgh now, you will be required to obtain a public entertainment licence from the council before booking the venue "
Surely you don't need one to have a get together of friends? |

From 1st April 2012 licensing requirements for Public Entertainment events in Edinburgh changed. Previously there was no need to have a license for Public Entertainment events if the event was free but that changed as a result of an amendment to legislation.
A licence is required where you intend to have entertainment, such as a dance, concert, variety show or other entertainment where some payment for admission is to be paid.
There also looking to change the rules on free admission events as well. I know, i organise events in and around edinburgh for a living.
You could just risk it, but if the council did find out there would be hefty fines to pay
