Me and a friend are going to be doing the north coast 500 later this week, is there anything anyone recommends on the route or elsewhere on the west coast?

Zipwire and Smoo Cave ar Durness.

Use your mirrors and let people pass you on the road.

Have a good time.

Falkirk

Road to applecross is really fun. Sheer drops hairpin corners. Some great seafood from the pub there too. Do it anti clockwise, travelling south on the west is stunning

I've been wanting to do the nc500 as well! Prefer to have a travel buddy to go with though

@OP, hope you enjoy the trip!

Had a great time though had to miss a few things that were recommended due to weather, the road to applecross was closed due to flooding so we just took the day to go to the Isle of Skye instead haha, thanks for all the advice

Clashnessie Bay - amazing beach, lovely waterfall just behind. Achmelvich is a must too.

As already said, use your mirrors!!

I live close to the route and am happy to meet socially or otherwise. Great weather here on the west coast just now.
