We have been to CJ's a few times but never been to After 8.

How does after 8 compare to CJ's?

in my opinion. Nowhere near, comes across as seedy. However best going at least once to make your mind up.

Tbh I have done both, and it's better that you try the club a couple of times, it's not the club that makes it but the company

I’m my opinion After 8 is seedy and is very cliquey. First timers should go to CJs where it is less dingy and more friendly and welcoming to new faces

For me it was the club. The whole vibe didn't sit right. Any club can have issue with people who go to the club but if the club looks seedy that doesn't go away no matter how nice the company is or isnt

We’ve been to both clubs and have had some great nights at them both.

There really is no comparison though as both offer you a different experience and perhaps a different crowd.

Go and make your own mind up and don’t be swayed by others preferences.

Two completely different clubs tbh, cjs is very large and open in comparison to after8

Some people prefer more space and potential for lots of people some

Prefer smaller cosier venues

Rooms and number of different types of play rooms and social rooms differ greatly too

Cjs limits the number of single Male places after8 doesn’t

Cjs people have to book in after8 is a walk in

I’d personally say give it a try on a cpl of different nights and form your own opinions cause what’s for one person isn’t always for the next

CJ'S hands down.

Been to both on more than one occasion so we can give an honest opinion.

After 8 very seedie and there's an open door policy and swarming with desperate men thinking that they have paid to get in so they should be entitled to fun and are all like flys around shite at any couple or single female going downstairs to the rooms.

CJ'S has a completely different policy whereby you have to contact cj's in order to get an invite in and single men are only invited on certain occasions and even then its a select few so it's not over crowded with desperados also a much cleaner well managed environment and much more relaxed friendly approach in the social/bar area.

Obviously people can pick and choose where they wish to go however it's a massive NO GO for After 8 and a serious 10 out of 10 for cj's but don't just take our word for it as everyone likes different things and the only way to find out is to get along yourself X

you should visit each club to make your own mind up. the after eight and cj's is like every other club you either love it or loathe it. some people like big clubs and some like smaller clubs.

I prefer CJs, at after8 I felt like I was sitting in someone’s living room, was repeatedly groped by the barman despite clearly not being interested and it felt like a meat market.

In comparison I found CJs to be spacious, welcoming, relaxed and fun. I wouldn’t even take my man to after8 as I know he’d hate it.

Hoping to get back to CJs soon as not been since NY, had hoped to go on Saturday but it’s closed.

Kink night can often be a good night to go apparently. Often more emphasis on the demos & less on the playing aspect. Next is at the end of Aug I believe.

Our first time at CJs: a d*unk group charged in to the couples room for an orgy - with running commentary from their friends watching. Marking them out of 10, shouting "Get in there!" and so on. We had to leave, it was that bad.

We've never had that trouble at After8 nor Sugar Kane so we've been sticking to those ever since.

I wouldn't expect a public room to be silent/quiet by any means, but it was like sitting in a train carriage chatting to your friends and a hen/stag party comes in and starts shouting at each other 0_o

Talking to other people about it, I get the vibe of "That's the risk you run, going to clubs. They're all like that." :-/

You will only really get skewed opinions mostly pro cjs as its this forums users hot ticket.

Its a club that runs the same strategy as most clubs so it really will be down to the attendees more than the venue.

In any Circle/Fanbase/Community there's always an outsider that just doesn't like or support something for some reason or another.

There's always someone anti-drink, but have never tried booze, same with smoking and the other "substances" we're not allowed to talk about.

I do find it funny when you bump into someone like that years later and they've tried the thing they were objected to, and now love it.

At no point did I complain about you posting. What I commented on was the need to post on subjects that you don't participate in. If there's subjects posted that I have no interest or knowledge in, I don't comment. I assume that as you never go to clubs and sometimes talk as if they are beneath you, they're not something you're interested in.

Btw, it was the royal 'we', meaning regular posters/readers of the forum, not anyone in particular. But take it however you like

Think the point of the post was Scottish clubs in the central belt, not everyone wants to make the trek all the way to Blackpool, best bet is to try them both on different nights, no two nights in either club are the same, crowds different ambience different.

You’ve said in the past you’re not interested in clubs and always comment with disdain, so not a great leap to make, but we’re all allowed to change our minds.

Also, disagreeing with someone isn’t ‘picking apart their viewpoint’, it’s simply disagreeing based on my own experience. Everyone’s mileage may vary, hence why as other people have said the only way for people to know which clubs will suit them is to try them out.

But you do you
