Ladies, guys that are in shape. Is it appealing?

Jump to: Newest in thread

There is a difference in opinion with some ladies that a guy in great shape is very desirable however some feel that they are self obsessed and that's all they care about.

What's your opinion?

Not something I find attractive.

Is that because of how they look or is it along the lines that you believe they might be self obsessed etc

Just wondering

Yes. A toned body is always appealing. Why wouldn't it be?

Saying that.. I have also been attracted to guys who are carrying a few extra stone as I love well built and chunky

How they look. Toned is lovely, but ripped isn't my type.

I do like an in shape body - but they’ve got to have the personality to go with it. So I won’t discount someone who is totally ripped (because it’s super sexy) but if all they talk about is the gym, calories, exercise and judge me for being curvy then it’s a no! Xx

Very appealing!!! But it's not a necessity for me to meet someone, since I'm not perfect either.

It's not just about someone's fitness levels for me, dad bods don't put me off. Character and nice face are also important x

I've never understood the appeal of the male body. It's so rectangular, like we're made of lego.

I’m just not attracted to men that are very muscular.

I don’t think it’s vain men being “huge and ripped” it’s all about the individual and how they feel.

God you should be applauded for the time you put in the gym. An hour three days a week is all I can handle.

I prefer someone who looks strong and masculine rather than a ripped body. As aesthetically pleasing as they are, those guys just make me self conscious about my own body.

I do like a nice gym fit body but I’ve been with bodybuilders who are that lean it’s like trying to cuddle a rock and that’s actually not that nice, most guys I know that are obsessed with the gym actually have more issues with confidence than most and it literally rips out them, or maybe I’m over sensitive to personalities that are a little lacking in confidence

When you say in shape?

What shape do you mean?

After all, some of us are still reasonably fit (in terms of exercising) and are not extremely ripped.

It's more the look of someone. First appearances.

Depends on the personality of the guy.

I’ve met people who are gorgeous but totally down to earth. I’ve also met asshats

Some men are triangle shaped with huge shoulders and small waists. I much prefer rectangular men but maybe thats because i am a lover of lego.

"It's more the look of someone. First appearances."

I’m always attracted to a guy that has great banter but have to be honest - there has to be some sort of physical attraction to make me start speaking to them in the first place.

Different strokes for different folks though isn’t it

I’m sure a handsome physically fit guy appeals to most ladies just as much as a slim beautiful woman does to a man but it doesn’t equal success or happiness in bed or love... that’s why the laws of attraction are so exciting and mysterious. May it never change ... pwhoaaar

Interesting thread. And reassuring to know that carrying a few extra pounds isn’t a turn off.

In my opinion, confidence and personality are far more attractive than body type.

This. Although one of my Fab friends has the most ridiculously beautiful body, and his physique is polar opposites to mine and I feel absolutely fine with him. That’s more due to him as a person though. If I didn’t know him well there is zero way I’d be getting naked anywhere near him!

Steroid look just looks uncomfortable. Have that I’ll implode any second appearance.

I'll look but move on by. I'm sure that the majority are really nice guys, but I'm lazy, eat and drink too much and I'm overweight.

And while round is a shape, in my head, it's not a shape that gym fit guys are into.

And I know that's being really stereotypical and forming a opinion that maybe isn't the case, but it's how I feel

When I was younger Ripped didn’t really exist if I’m honest. A hot guy was hot for a multitude of reasons, shallow though I am, if I’m not finding a guy or girl physical attractive at first sight it seldom leads to anything but there have been exceptions to that so my take is that HOT comes in all shapes and sizes
