Hi, I'm a single male and have booked onto the events at CJs and Shoebox. I have no experience of attending events like this whatsoever. However, I am curious and have been for a number of years to attend and see if it rocks my boat.

I am absolutely terrified and excited in equal measures. I know how to conduct myself in public & privately.

If anyone has advice, please post on here or in private. While I am excited, it kinda terrifies me I'll completely freeze if I manage to get myself over the front door.

Only advice I have really is be as confident as you can (even fake it), make the effort to chat to people and be social, it will make your night 100% better.

Two completely different types of venues but go with an open mind to each and a positive attitude, socialise and be respectful, have an open mind and try not to feel under pressure, treat them both as any other socialising event, even if people are in groups and chatting don’t be afraid to join in, yes people will know each other and want to chat and catch up but that doesn’t mean they won’t invite others to chat, it can be easy to get carried away and not realise a newbie in the corner so don’t stand in the corner Male an effort x

Both places have their ups and downs. Look, listen and pick up the vibe and go with the flow. Been to both and had fun at them.

I can understand your fears.

But both places are very welcoming and relaxed

Once your in you’ll realize you had nothing to worry about.
