Shoebox Stands with Glasgow Lap Dancing Clubs

Ladies, Gentlemen and fellow swingers, We need your help.
It would appear that Sandra White MSP strikes again, only this time its Glasgow's lap dance club scene she is after.
Below is an article in today's newspaper regard how Sandra White is leading a campaign to further licence Glasgow's adult entertainment clubs.
In interview Sandra White did NOT say she is advocating for more licencing, but more she is pushing for closure. This is a politician that does not seem to have an interest in dialogue or negotiation, as she has made quite clear what her agenda is.
Not sure how you all feel about lap dancing clubs, but people please be assured that if this prudish politician is successful, swingers clubs are likely to be on her next list of targets.
The Shoebox has already been subject to one of Sandra's crusades and as sure as sex is sex, she has been unsuccessful in finding any criminality in what is no more than adult fun.
This women gets paid thousands every year to sit in her office on a crusade to stop sex in all its formats, while poverty, social deprivation and universal credit ruin people lives.
She is intent on costing the jobs of over 700 lap dancers and staff at these clubs, and when these people are made unemployed, is universal credit really a help or way forward for these folk.
Everyone should have a right to choose and not have government choose for them, especially when wrong doing is not suspected or proven. Sandra seems to find it hard to believe that some women like sex and enjoy the attention they get in places of adult entertainment and guess what, the guys like giving it to them!
To all women i say, if you value the rights of what you do with your own bodies please stop this woman's mental actions against Glasgow's reputable clubs and places of entertainment for adults.

I was going to put a post up the other week about the SEVs licence etc, personally think it's shocking how they target certain things nowadays and see them as easy targets and a way to get an easy pay check 
Think it should be licenced so people can run whatever kind of business they see fit

I’ve visited said clubs in the past , usually an end of the night thing before heading home for some nice chat with the girls. I can honestly say hand on heart I’ve never spoken to a girl who is not there and doesn’t want to be there . All perfectly normal people, doing a job, and enjoying it to boot. Why are politicians and people in general insisting on outlawing fun in this country? Who is doing anything illegal here ? Scotland has absolutely gone to the dogs ffs ? |

I had a ex who worked in a club , paid well and looked after , so yes while sex is always looked it with a seedy underbelly it’s not always the case and the people in at the top need to be educated ,

I worked on the door of a lap dance club and I enjoyed my shift so feck off.
The girls in these clubs would be a helluva lot worse off financially if the clubs were to close down

Which is precisely why Ms White is so misguided: shutting down the more “open” clubs will only turn the clock back: men will still be willing to pay for a girls time, but instead of it being on her terms in a safe environment, it’ll more likely be under an underpass somewhere far from CCTV.
I’ve seen many accusation levelled at shoebox, but “exploitative” of any female visitors doesn’t seem to rabk highly: very different of my memories of what was reported to be happening in the red light areas 10 - 20 years ago. |

Like so many things pedalled by intellectually challenged politicians and media types usually of left wing persuasions, its purely for an easy clap from a stupid audience because its politically correct. Political correctness is at the heart of so many of these stupid ideas and policies that quickly are proven to be worthless bullshit. Wish politicians would start earning their keep fighting the hard yards for once, or be fired. |

Pretty wild assumption you got there, mate. White's campaign is opposed by the GMB union which represents a lot of the dancers, and almost every sex worker I know is a lefty of some description. If anything, White's particular brand of radfem politics is known for colluding with conservative religious fundamentalists on issues like this. |
