Well all I can say is they put their male counterparts to shame . .

At least the ladies got to the party, which is something the men can only dream about.

Cheated by ref

Might as well not put a goalie in the goal for a penalty

Fifa are a shocking governing body

They should leave football rules alone.

Teams with money will eventually get this ruling changed after lots of protest as it will effect them in big money tournaments

I also think Scotland should have changed tactics after 3 up

Our girls were tiring

They showed so much heart

Kerr boobed

The ref was dodgy from the point of view of allowing play to continue before Scottish sub was on the pitch in lead up to penalty.... also on mot adding on enough time (5 mins ish for VAR/penalty delays + 2 and a half minutes for subs.)

However .... the VAR bit was right. It was a penalty and Alexander was off her line. A rule brought in on 1st June made it clear a keeper must have 1 foot on or above the line when the ball is kicked. It was also made clear at beginning of World Cup that VAR would be used to make sure this was the case. It has already been done in the world cup AND the ref spent about 20 seconds making sure Alexander knew that before the first penalty was taken. So that decision was 100% correct unfortunately

Maybe so

I've played in goals and Its hard for any keeper to stay on line

I think the ruling wasnt thought out correctly

I would change

And they take should maybe take one step to hit

Or they shouldn't stutter when hitting penalty

Have you played in goals....

Can't watch any of it, it's dire, and I watch football in almost any league in the world when I can and it's on.

When someone can score a goal simply because they can kick the ball too high for the keeper to be able to reach it like, says it all.

And the retaken penalty last night was equally as bad as the first effort and in the same spot, no excuse not to save it.

"Have you played as a goalkeeper"

I'm talking about when the goalkeeper is on the line, i.e. Too small for the goals. Makes a mockery of it.

No I havent, I played outfield. But enlighten me because I have eyes and can see.

West Lothian

The ref was awful bit Shelley Kerr 100% to blame.

Absolutely terrible tactics persisting with the same 11 for 80 minutes when the girls were a surely out on their feet getting us into a 3-0.

Argentina made their three subs before our first and it was their substitutions, which we did nothing to counteract which got them the draw.

Your post is abysmal but it does ask the question should the goals and pitch size be altered slightly to suit the smaller framed sex? Possibly.

Keeper was wrong footed for the second pen. You are attributing blame to the wrong person if you are looking for the reason scotland failed.

.

Didn't watch it but that's what I read into it.

It's not picking the starting 11 that's the hallmark of a good manager but adapting to the situation as it evolves and making changes accordingly. Sounds like that didn't happen. No team should ever lose a 3 goal lead.

Only when Henrick was pulling the hoops on xxx

I've watched some really good games at that standard. Is it to overall world cup standard, well if course it is not.

The Scotland ladies are about 15 years behind the English ladies and overall it still has miles to go. Just because its technically inferior doesn't mean its a bad game. Some of the best games I've seen are with two crackin forward lines and two shite defences.

Never know might one day see women playing in the professional leagues and why not.

Actually....yes! i know what you mean it is hard. The issue with the rule is actually that you cant be behind the line!!! So a keeper cant start a foot behind the line and step forward on to the line as they are moving forward.

Also agree that should the forward stutter it should be ok to be off line.

Interestingly i would get rid of penalties and do what they do in hockey. Start much further out and 8 seconds to score one on one.

Refereeing, VAR, whatever.

If a team are 3-0 up with 16 minutes to go and can't manage the game out, then they probably ought not to progress. That was horrendous from Scotland. Where were the leaders when the game was collapsing around them?

VAR and the controversy is deflecting from the real issue here.
