I have both an xbox and ps4 along with a pc and a switch.
It depends on what she wants to play as each platform has exclusive games and most games don't allow cross platform multi play yet |

I don't game but she wants to play Fortnite, Minecraft and FIFA mostly hence why could go for either platform I just wondered if either has any benefit over the other as makes no difference to me which.

In that case just go with what you can get the best deal on.
The PS4 does have more games on it but both support all the games you mentioned |

My son (aged 10 at the time) wanted a console last year and chose xbox as his friends mainly had xbox. He saved up and bought second hand from ebay.
My niece (aged 10) decided she wanted one too but within 6 months she stopped playing it.
Just in case it's a passing phase with your daughter you might want to get a second hand one initially. |
