A work colleague moved to Glasgow for a year to work, her description of Glasgow as a city
"It's like a big toilet"
It is a total shithole right enough but I don't mind it or the people.
Edinburgh is a much nicer and the women on the whole who you find walking around the city centre generally prettier. |

I don't know if they're any prettier, but it's been eight hours now and no one's taken you to task.
C'mon girls, what's keeping you? |

Surely it'd be the guys taking me to task on my assessment of the women in general, not specific cases?
What's your opinion? No doubt you'll play safe and keep your options open in time old fab style. |

I am very fond of Edinburgh though and we go through quite often with the weans for a wander.

So what do you base it on?
Genetics? More blondes, brunettes, red haired girls? Do they carry themselves in a more confident manner, or better at applying make up? Is Edinburgh more affluent than Glasgow, ladies being able to afford better, more stylish clothing?
C'mon give us all the benefit of your perceived wisdom, we're all waiting with baited breath.
As an aside, what was it in my last post that made you conclude that I'd concoct anything up just to stay in favour with the female posters on here? |

As you'll see from my origioanl post I said women walking around the city centre in general. That's all I said.
It's based on my eyes and what I have seen with them!! When I've been in the centre of both cities in day time. That's all, it's an observation.
Does that satisfy you? Maybe you can elaborate on your theories you suggested? I never actually suggested there was a reason for it. You tried to encourage a reaction out of a simple observation and yet you sat on the fence yourself without an opinion. Splinters yet? |

I have no opinion whatsoever where the prettiest girls reside, wouldn't even know. I just responded to your post in a jovial manner, but you somehow decided that my post deserved to be derided by insinuating that any opinion I may make would come about because of my desperation to seek approval from the ladies.
I really don't give a f@ck.

I much prefer a quieter life the cities don’t interest me tbh Glasgow is ok Edinburgh I find very pretentious and I only enjoy it on rugby days, I’d much rather head to Oban or up towards Skye and visit the Highlands and Islands but I suppose the fact I’m not a drinker night have something to do with it, and I hate shopping with a passion, so there’s not really much else Edinburgh or Glasgow have to offer tbh architecture and history I’ve seen and done already not much else to learn about either, much rather unspoiled beauty, my favourite place has got to be embo because of the beautiful beaches the small village hospitality and of course my lifelong friend lives there so it’s always great to go visit |

Jovial? Was it jovial as you added?
Your subsequent reply asking me what I based it on suggested otherwise. It was a simple observation based on the few times I've ambled around both city centres during the day. What do you want as proof? I don't know why they seemed prettier in general but I certainly don't base attractiveness on colour of hair, how well applied make up is or what cloths someone wears. That's largely irrelevant when judging someone's attractiveness for me. I don't even know if these woman reside there or were tourists or visitors. Maybe they were all Glaswegians visiting Edinburgh for the day?? .
Anyway, since no one else seems offended, I'll assume people accepted it wasn't a dig.

Got to be Glasgow for me. Where I used to live people kept an eye on each other and helped out if someone needs some help, always up for some random chat. Even the drug dealer on the corner of our street would step in if needed (needless to say, we left the area before my son started school). I find Edinburgh quite cold that way and people tend to stick to themselves more. But probably only because I don't know it that well x |

Architecture in both cities is amazing both have many highs and lows but as you say the people make the city
Edinburgh is cold, pretentious and full of university type people you only find in the West End of Glasgow.
Glasgow is more down to earth with a bang type of place, people are warm and friendly until you cross them.
I much prefer the Highlands and Islands and way out the way of the little blemishes each city has

"Inverness. People are so laid back it’s unreal and the surrounding countryside, particularly around the Black Isle is just stunning.
If it’s between Glasgow and Edinburgh? Glasgow 6 days a week and twice on a Sunday. Any city that asks if you want “Salt n Sauce” on your chips needs to take a long hard look at itself "
I agree Inverness is beautiful.
However chippy sauce is great! |

Chippy sauce is wonderful - you need educating Sir!
Having lived in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh (albeit only at weekends), even I am a bit of a Glasgow convert these days. The place thrives with life, opportunity and adventure. |

As Limmy said though...."that fucking accent!!!!" (ducks) "
Aye and Salt and Sauce what fuck is that about.
Glasgow is by far the best city out of the 2 as a couple have said it’s more down to earth and people tend to look out for each other more.
But if I had to pick an area it would be the East Nuek area St. Andrews, St. Monans and Ellie |
