Ok peeps needing help here. Completely off ‘Playing’ topic.
I’m looking for a garage to rent with light / power £80-£100 monthly 2 month up front. Got a few boxes to store and a motorbike to rebuild for a few months. Checked FB, gumtree etc but hitting a brick wall or the prices are ridiculous.
I’m looking for a single car garage, between Johnstone and the Mearns that’s dry, safe and secure. Would need access up to 2130 hrs week day after work and 1200 -2200 wkend.
If it needs a bit of work, paint or the floor levelled then I can do that.
Can anyone help?
Cheers people |

Perhaps you’ll be better off looking in other areas, not easy to find places suitable for bikes or put a gumtree add see if anyone’s looking to split the costs, myself my bf and his brother all have a lock up between us |

I’ve done FB, gumtree, the paper etc. Folks wanting upward of 200 a month for the power point. I don’t know anyone local and can’t be welding a bobchop in the communal garden lol |

Paisley |
Off the top of my head, I'm thinking Floors Street, or Minerva Works in Johnstone.
Self storage place in Abercorn st. Paisley, plus other wee units up that street too!
Might be too pricey, I have no idea of their costs. |

If you are running a grinder, welder and compressor even if not at the same time the load on the 240V system will be pushing it.
Most single car garages might only have one socket outlet and they are normally designed for domestic appliances.
You then have the noise issue depending where it is located.
Also people are now aware of the disposal a hazardous materials so even if your storing your lubricants and chemicals correctly it needs to be stated on the insurance for the building which will also drive up costs.
Years ago B and his mates rented an industrial unit between them for working on the bikes.
It worked out about £80/£90 a month between the 5 of them and it had 3 phase power which was brilliant for what they needed it for.
