How much of it do you need to feel fit for the next day?

Do you recognise little failings when not had enough?

Have you got a good routine that guarantees good quality sleep?

6 hours. Can function reasonably well on slightly less, but 6 is optimal for me.

Hate spending a great deal more than that in bed.

I could sleep double that which I do..

I mostly get about 7 hours..but I work out each morning then a full work shift straight after..so I'm permantly knackered.

I do night shift. Can get by on 10 hours over 4 days. Will have at least one day after that I'll sleep for at least 12 hours tho. 5 hours a night does me tho

Almost exactly same pattern I had when worked nights x

Nightshift plays havoc with my sleep pattern. After work i sleep for 4hrs then go back to bed for 2hrs in the evening before i start again. Days off i never get tired and never in bed before 1am and always up by 8.

I'd say 6 or 7 but if I'm an early shift prob about 5.

Don't think I could sleep any longer even if I tried.once I wake I'm up.

Just a background character

7hrs is about average for me and thankfully don't do much overnight work these days.

Recently I was sleeping up to 20 hours a day (I was ill). Normally I don’t tend to sleep much and usually sleep about 3 hours at a time. I do eventually nod off again but a good night for me is 5/6 hours but it’s always a broken sleep.

Nowadays I struggle if I don’t get a good 10hours I used to be able to do maybe 3hours a night and was perfectly fine, sometimes I can sleep for a week and barely get up even to go to the toilet I have medication I can take when insomnia gets too bad that I’m struggling to sleep and starting to flail

I average about 5 hrs a night. But if I'm on Nightshift then I usually only manage a couple of hours when I get home.
