I did it in 5 days. I think idealy 7 would be best as we had a couple of 20 plus mile days.
We also campt, if you get the chance youth hostel or b n b's would be better.
All the best.
Ps we raised money for charity doing it. You could raise a bit of money and take in a fantastic walk at the same time |

I did it a few years back carrying everything on my back. Pretty rubbish in the rain but when the sun shines the views are awesome. I also did Ben Nevis at the end for fun. Up in 3 hours and down in 1 1/2. Definitely needed a bath after that!
Go for it |

"doing the west highland way this aug was wondering has any 1 done it before and how did u find it going "
Fun walk in good weather, miserable if the rain and midges but if you get your overnight stops spaced correct it is one hell of a pub crawl.

not done the west highland way yet. All ill say though is dont wear shiny new boots on it as your feet will kill. Make sure you break them in before you go.
Sorry if this sounds patronising |

"Would rather have a tooth out. lol
All those lovely mountains to climb and ppl wallow about on a path under them.
WHW isn't for us thanks."
Who said you can't include those in your trip.
The High WHW is a good way to walk it.

As long as your reasonably fit, it should be a pleasant journey. Devils staircase and coming up out of Kinlochleven is a bit of a bugger,(but i was carrying 4 stone weight in my bergen ).
The complete west highland way includes going up Ben Nevis at the end too, and that is a pain,(take warm gear for the summit, even in summer.)
May is the best time to go,reasonable weather and NO midgies. |

Myself and 3 ex Marine friends of mine did it for charity a couple of years back, it took us around 18 hours. The faster we completed it the more money we made for Marie Curie. Jim |

devils staircase the hardest bit, did it in 3 days which was really silly, take 5 and enjoy it, just dont stop at the first pub you find and you will love it... oh and take some jungle formula, midges in august a nightmare |

Did it with a couple of mates in August last year for charity.
Thankfully missed the midges and had a good time - though feet were sore and blistered.
Did it over 5 days - so if that is your intention condition your feet and practise a bit in advance.
Good luck |
