what charity would you give most to,

personally, i think there should be a law stating any money donated to charity goes to charity,

as looking more into it, cancer research takes 80% of money donated towards admin causes, this to me is wrong and all money should go to into research,

as cancer started 1500 b.c. and still we cant find cures the way they did for s,t,d that use to kill allot of people back in olden days,

i would donate to sick kids, and marrie curry,

central scotland

A lot of charities are no more than businesses with some only 10% goes to the actual charity, 90p in the £ is a heluva administration cost.

I would suggest anyone donating looks first at the % that ends with the charity and decides from there.

Help for heroes is one I give regularly to.

Best looking into local charities where you can actually see the good the money is doing.

Help for Heroes....defo.

Children's charities (Sick Kids, cash for kids etc)

I prefer Scottish (local) charites to Barnardo's or Heart Foundation as they are more a business and exploit people methinks.

I think this is very much a personal thing as we all give to things close to our heart. Mine is ayrshire hospice, and crossroads due to the help they gave my dad and me in the last few years but i also give to renal research which is one that gets left out all the time as my mum did and i do suffer with a kidney problem.

I agree the bigger ones take too much of a % for admin costs. But they all do a great job no matter what.

Dundee/Angus/Blackpool

on a committee for dog showing and one of the shows that is run is Charity based and we do regularly send to Macmillan and Chas and i think personally Macmillan nurses do a tremendous job as they were there for my gran when she had Cancer, and we do other well known charities as well or even just ones not well known and then any money that is made on the night is then sent on to given charity.

Cant say enough for every charity out there, they do awesome work

I donate to BKPA Aka British Kidney Patients Association as my son is on kidney dialysis also to SESKPA which also caters for kidney patients there are a lot of charities out there where only a partial amount of money does actually go to the charity instead they pay the workers for collecting for them where i think it perhaps should be a voluntary deed as if in the tub £30 is collected per day thats paying thier wages and defeats the purpose of the whole collection .

Was a Fundraising Co Ordinator for a long time esp having to work hard raising over twenty thousand when my son was very ill in his young age to buy equipment for him.

My 2ps worth .

Charities are all useful in the work they do and most people myself included help the charities closest to our hearts.

My gran and aunt both died of cancer so therefore this is one that i choose to support and my little girl has heart problems so i also donate to heart foundation but also give to Yorkhill sick childrens hosptial as that is where she recieved her open heart surgery as well as the care she still recieves.

All are worthwhile and none more deserving than others.
