I’m a professional, I can even sign passports etc because of the particular field I work in. To me it means that above most things my career and reputation mean a lot more to me than many things and admittedly in the past even before my family. I don’t put it on my profile but I still very much ensure I act like a professional by maintaining my anonymity as much as possible online especially photos, however if I’m meeting someone in person I’m as honest about my career as the day is done, mainly because I’m extremely proud of my achievements and what I’ve overcome not to brag which some folk assume. When someone says they’re a professional to me i personally take it to mean that they tend to be a lot more cautious about who they meet and where but there are some that just like folk to know they are successful and give themselves an ego boost. |

I agree, same with me and my job being able to sign passports etc. But I don't see what being professional has got to do with anything we do on here.
I agree with others here that it's a bit of snootiness.
Much better to put "discretion is essential". |

Anything that you require certification or licensing classes you as professional. Even jobs that were classed as jobs for idiots at one time e.g security, cleaning and even bin men are highly trained roles |

This comes up every couple of days in the forums. Usually there are arguments about it. To sum up the arguments it goes as follows
Argument 1: The Professional: we’re a nice middle class couple with a good lifestyle. We’d rather like to meet someone similar who we have something in common with before we have sex with them.
Argument 2 : The Non-Professional: I don’t care what you do or what you’re like. It’s only fucking and anyone who thinks otherwise is a snobby cunt.
We might have missed some subtlety in our description . |

Being professional can mean anything.
A high power banker to an office worker?
A doctor to a dental hygienist?
It's basically if you are working and not watching jezza Kyle and loose woman eating pot noodles and drinking red bull all day? |

I find the "professional" types tend to have disappeared up their arses sometime ago, show a distinct lack of a sense of humour and are usually quite arrogant.
Why even mention or allude to your profession or social status on your profile? |

Because it is not politically correct to talk about the class system, it is shorthand to say “I’m middle or upper middle class you skivvys.”
I suppose though it is a form of “preference” like race, tattoos, safe sex, or the like so it has a place here for people who feel strongly enough about “class”.
Personally. I don’t. |

People look at me and think lower working class or at the minute because of my health benefit scrounger !! A year ago I was earning 5x more than most of the people I know
I live in an area that’s classed as deprived full of poverty’s I I fail to see reasoning in that statement because I am and always will be a professional, my skills expertise and knowledge will always highly sought after and I will never be stuck looking for employment if my health improves ! Until the put the nail in my coffin I will always be a professional employed or otherwise |

ps just wanna say that as well as having a smart ass I am also a smart ass, I’m like an intellectual and practical sponge, one of those really annoying tickets that seems to know shit about everything and can see something done once and then go do it, and sometimes even do it better than the person who just showed them how to do it five minutes ago and FYI if you wanna get me really excited start talking about aeroplanes and then I get like a five year old on acid ! |

I would think it was unnecessary to put it on a swinging profile.
Im not caring what they do for a living to me its about the person they are. |
