How many of you actually pay attention to them ?
How many have I offended by ignoring them lol at least 165 !
I don’t really get many messages these days which is a bonus but I alway try to read them when I do and I always just delete friends requests but I always seem to forget about winks ! I don’t think I’ve ever winked anyone in all the time I’ve been on fab |

"Only sometimes look at them but the best meet i ever had on here started with a wink. He was gorgeous and too good to pass by."
Maybe if the dashboard was smaller with less on it it might jump out at me |

Got to love a little wink, it’s like giving someone a little cheeky smile with a dirty look in the eyes while out and about. It always makes you feel good. |

I almost always acknowledge winks and reply with a thank you even if I've looked at the profile and I know I've no interest in chatting to them.
However it does strike me as a lazy way to try and grab someone's attention rather than having the confidence to send a message because it's my reply that will prompt any conversation essentially. |

Well I imagine trawling through a pile of winks is more mind numbing than a pile of messages and furthermore they say absolutely nothing about the person that sent it. Least you can delete or reply to someone's message based on the premise that it gives you an indication of what they may be like. |

Ok
No. Winks with face pics far easier and i never feel as bad if i dont respond but i do if i dont reply to messages." |

Look I said imagine as I don't have to trawl through anything.
What does a wink tell you about the person? Makes you look at their profile perhaps and you like their pics or their profile blog. Message then and they reply and they're a complete balloon!!
On the other hand get a message, read said message and nip on bud right there an then as their balloon status is obvious from their message.
Are you really saying you put more emphasis on a wink than a sensible message? Because you don't know what anyone's like that winks you? |

Yes. Because an exciting profile can lead to exciting messaages which have lead to a very exciting meet. |

Well look at the profile that's messaging you then before you even read the message and do the same. Except you will have further information in the form of the message that you already received in order to formulate your opinion.
Am I missing the point here?? Is there some hidden or subliminal message that accompanies a wink that I haven't been told about or simply don't grasp? |

Of course but exciting messages do not mean they have an exciting profile or pics. |

Well then, what you're sayin is it the exact same as a wink!!! But potentially slightly better if you like both the profile and the message.
I win!! This is daft! |

No you don't!
Even tho beleive it or not it's not a competition?
A wink or a message to me anyway is not different because I look at the profile before any communication is made |

Exactly, so a profile view married with a good message is already off to a head start over a wink!! That's my point!!! Thank you!! |

"I think if I was a guy I'd just send winks rather than a message.
If I get a wink back then I'd message. "
This is my thoughts also. Sometimes feel like you're being lost in the crowd doing this, but ultimately there's not much point further clogging up mailboxes if the person on the other end isn't interested.
It's kind of like what OKC did with their updated policy a while back - both sides show interest, THEN message. |

Well looks like I’m kinda on my own with the whole not even paying attention to winks I’m still of the opinion though fab need to move the buttons to the bottom of folks profiles so people at least need to scroll past before selecting the button of choice ie send a message hotlist or wink |

Whoever designed Fab thought the winks were a good idea. I suppose it depends on how many messages/winks you are getting. I just counted our winks since I last cleared them out and it’s 129, if they were messages there is no way would could reply to them all and we don’t like ignoring anyone, but don’t feel so bad not responding to winks.
There was a single girl put up a screen shot of her account and she had over 4000 unread messages and was deleting them all. I think the winks make it easier, but each to their own. |

Two winks make a...fun time hopefully.
I know some see it as lazy way of communicating but lets face it...your in the pub or nightclub and see someone across the dancefloor....do you smile and wink at first before getting up to dance/bar/etc?
I know I do - all flirtatious fun.
But then I know the online flipside - a wink is often a one handed male communication tool - dread to think what the other hand is doing. |

If I am looking at a profile and it interests me, or excites me, I will usually fab any photos that I like and accompany it with a wink... Then I go about my normal day and never receive any acknowledgement
But I have been on and off here for long enough to accept that it is what it is |
