it's strange that I don't give out my number? been chatting with a guy, discussed our likes and dislikes, exchanged photos and to be honest really thought that we were going to have a great time together. however, as i won't give him my number he's not interested. his argument is that he thinks that it's strange that i could meet a guy and fuck him without him having my number. what's your thoughts? xxx |

Even as a single guy, i prefer not to give out my mobile number too much.
Most things can be arranged here on the site without the need for phone calls (proving there is a fem in a couple by phone is a different matter of course)
Your number is yours, and nobody needs an unexpected "fancy a fuck" text or call when having a family dinner, even if it's from someone you know/like!

Having someone's number isn't a cast-iron guarantee that they would turn up for a meet anyhow - as evidenced by some posts on here. I think it should always be safety first and if YOU don't want to give out your number then thats your choice and if the person you're referring to doesn't understand that then his loss !  |

Hi hun sorry to hear your getting hassled. 
A lot of people on these sites have seperate phones for meets.
It means that you never get them calling when you are sitting with family and such like.
Many people have told me how cheap mobiles are on ebay and you can get free sim cards online.
And when you aint in the mood to read txts saying "show me you ****" you can leave it in a drawer collecting all the daft txts and you dont get any to your main mobile.

We only give our number out if we have decided to meet someone, and then it is only a phone and sim card we use just for that.
We think it is wise you seem to be doing the same.
However, I can't see anyone wanting to meet a couple/female until they have heard them on the phone, even if it is just to hear the females voice. |

i agree with Elaine why do some guys seem to expect to get your number, i learned my lesson the hard way with loads of calls at all times so now i only give it to ones i trust |

Sorry for the delay elaine....have been away...the cops finally caught up with me for questioning about the incident where the lingerie vanished off next doors washing line...but that's a whole different story....
Really is your choice whether or not you give out your number...and it sure as hell should not end up being a "deal breaker" if the guy was serious....

Yep, would agree that as it's still a free country, just(!!), it's totally up to you.
However, things do occasionally and genuinely crop up at the last minute and so it is useful to be able to contact someone to maybe advise that you're going to be late or unable to meet at all.
I was held up for nearly 30 mins trying to get out of Aberdeen yesterday, and for people in the Midlands and South of England a 30 min and more holdup can be an everyday occurence!!
But at the end of the day, it's an individual's choice. And I think a lot of it has to do with trust. |
