"Has the cake gone mouldy and thrown in the bin or is there still some hanging around?
I’m a sucker for carrot cake if you stumble upon any. "
Naw! I've been terrified to even walk past a bakery for the past couple of years because of this place |

Oh jeez anyone would be lucky to get a Betty crocker box kit brownie from me unless I'd stopped at a Dobbies on the way through and bought something... Love to bake but but no time. Especially with the waxing, lingerie choosing and the rest...

A BRIEF HISTORY OF CAKE IN SCOTTISH FORUMS:
The earliest mention I’ve found of cake came from a g-antihero well over 6 years ago & who was partial to cupcakes at work.
Around this period a certain Scot R had a business which involved providing various outlets around Scotland & the West Midlands with various cake assortments. As Scot R was friendly with a Mr Furry they shared an in-joke after a Social Meet about Maccie D’s & of course Muffins & other assorted cakes.
Before long the mention of cake, along with straight jackets & meds’ became popular, particularly with new folk to the Forums.
Like many “catchphrases” it was repeated frequently & ad nauseum until most had actually forgotten why it came about.
As Forumites moved on the phrase was almost forgotten about until 2019 when someone (who had enjoyed cake & even used the catchphrase) resurrected it.
There are also other mentions of cake on other Fab Scrolls littered around the Forums, along with Haribo, Kola Bottles & other assorted goodies, however cake still seems to be the nibble of choice & tops the polls as most popular confectionery... though buns, baps & donuts also have a healthy following amongst many Forumites.
