I know this isn't exactly what this site is for but a collective mind is stronger.

So I've kinda been out of action since summer 2018 due to my eczema, I was just wondering if anyone had any tips or advice to help me get my skin back in good condition so I can start enjoying myself again. Any advice is appreciated.

P.S to save time I'm currently on the uv treatment, and use aveeno and 50/50 at nights.

My son gets diprobase and emovate from the doctor. Also he needs to watch his diet. Anything with high coluring makes his skin worse. He also gets diprobath for washing

Does your doctor not prescribe anything? Surely any prescribed emollients/treatments will be better than what you can get off the shelf?

Get a referral to dermatology. GP can only offer so much. Check out your diet and see if anything aggravates it such as washing powder, etc

You can still meet socially if you don’t want to play. It’s good to socialise.

GP and a referral to dermatology makes the most sense.

In the meantime, most adults are lactose intolerant and it can present as skin complaints. Try cutting out milk for a while (takes 3 weeks to clear the system) and see if it helps

You have to do what works for you and know what triggers it.

18 years I have been dealing with this condition with my son and we've tried all the medical creams and non medical creams under the sun... I just handed up making my own creams now.

Know your triggers. Get yourself tested for allergies. This will help you.

Use very little washing powder and go for the bio ones

Use gentle soaps/shower gel.

Clean and short nails, reduce scratching

Camomille tea bags compresses are good to calm the area if it's flaring up. Use the tea to wash your face if you have eczema there.

If you have acne be careful not to mix the creams together.

Cortisone creams. You should have 1% one for your body and only 0.5% for your face.

It thins the skin so just use with care.

I make my own. Base moisturiser, vitamin E oil and avocado oil or jojoba oil does help when you are not using the cortisone cream.

But get yourself tested for allergies that's a big help to know what can trigger it. Food like eggs fish tomatoes can be a trigger and things like leather or wool.

Hope this helps. Good luck OP.

Eating it regularly too it’s like aloe Vera nature’s healer has to be active 15+ upwards

Most folk I know who have had good results have cut dairy out and a good tea tree shower scrub to lift the dead skin off is good again tea tree is another of nature’s pick I know we washed patients with mrsa using it and had great results they weren’t getting from antibiotics when I worked in nursing homes twenty years ago and I use it daily in shower I’ve always had great skin though

I used to have terrible eczema. I started taking an evening primrose oil capsule every day and putting Himalayan salts (can get both in Asda) in my bath. It’s basically cured now apart from occasional flare ups

I suffered badly from scorriasis for a long time , tried all the creams and shit on the market to no avail. Ended up buying a UV machine for my house and never looked back. Its NOT recommended by docs as im now at risk of skin cancers but im finding im hardly ever using it now . Keeping the condition at bay means minimal use. Dont confuse this mc with sunbeds. Your looking at 5k price tag and need just over a meter square space in your home. All medical advice will tell you NOT to do this though. It was simply a quality of life issue for me so my choice. This is not advice just what i done.

Id recommend a lotion bar from beeswax Scotland. You can find it on facebook. I buy regularly from her and have had amazing results. All natural ingredients! She posts before & after pics from genuine customers too so you can see the results for yourself! Good luck

Unfortunately the weather isn't a help but sea bathing was always what my family did with me during excema flare ups. Salt in your bath water helps but sea works best x
