If you new to the socials and were going to go or wanted to go to one of the big social events arranged from the forums, would you go to one that is close to you or you prefer to go to one further away to where you live incase you might see or meet someone you know. |

"Closer, it’s easier to run away if I bump into you!"
Happy New Year To You Too.
Anyways my first social was in Dundee about 3 years ago. Had a fantastic time and cant remember why I picked Dundee as my first but was glad I did, the next one was Glasgow after that |

My first was last Christmas, Glasgow social. Loved it and now I’m an addict. Been to a good few now and even arranged a cinema social last year.

I'd prefer local. It wouldn't bother me if someone I know showed up, I wouldn't be all that embarrassed as I've nothing to be ashamed of. I'm not cheating or hurting anyone after all.
I'd respect thier privacy (even if they were cheating - not my circus - not my monkeys) and hope they'd respect mine. It's not like one of us would take to FB and announce 'guess who I saw at a swinger party'
If that was the outcome I'd just have to suck it up & own my truth |

"I thought socials were to get to know people anyway?
If you wanted to avoid people you knew you’d have to keep going to a different city every time."
Not necessarily.
Some people have not tried a social before but only contemplated it and there has been a few who want to go to a social but unsure about going to a closer one or one in their city/town etc..., believing that there's less chance of meeting someone they know.
Usually after their first one or their first two social they then feel more confident n comfortable and start going to ones in their local area .
there are some who don't care who they meet so I'm sure those people wouldn't bother them |

"Still to go to one but would probably be Glasgow as it's a 25 min drive."
Enjoy your first one when you eventually try it out and then you will be wanting to go to all the big socials.
Great blast |
