How many guys on here have had or still have it. By the way I have it x

Sorry to hear that, and no topic should be taboo, my pals cousin had an awesome blog he wrote during his journey with cancer and is share his posts on my fb and folk were always complaining, I was just like seriously it doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom, always good to relate to others and of course hear the recovery stories xx |

A friend of mine had it and got one testicle removed. He is healthier now than he was before. He jokes about it all the time.
Hope you have a speedy and easy recovery. |

My husband died from testicular cancer. By the time he addressed it things were too advanced and he had metastasis.
I would encourage any man to get even the simplest change checked out. Scars would never put me off - wish my husband was alive with scars !! |

I work in this particular area and a lot of people worry about scars. You can get some really good treatment for scars now that’s really effective but I wouldn’t worry! Scars are fine and I’ve never been put off by one.
I have a massive scar on one of my butt cheeks from surgery I had when I contracted sepsis so I know how you feel!
Always happy to get together and compare war wounds lol!
Seriously tho, you’ll be grand! |

I was at high risk of developing cancer so had one removed.
Scars arent actually all that bad.
Never bothered getting the prosthetic as that can be brutal so Ive heard.
Tbh I dont see the big deal, never had any complaints about it either.

Hope you are doing well in your treatment op
It’s importnant everyone gets any lumps/bumps or odd things anywhere checked (ladies if you’ve not had your smear why not?)
I recently had a scare and should know better my cousin died of secondary cancer following cervical cancer at the age of just 45 leaving a young family.
I didn’t go get something checked I think through fear but eventually did, thankfully a minor procedure and regular check ups and I will be just fine.
But I get where you are coming from op re scars as I’ve now been offered surgery on a massive scale so it’d lessen my chances of developing full blown cancer but I’ve asked for some time to think about it |

Many years ago I noticed a lump and went to get it checked out. Luckily for me it turned out to be a cyst the shape of a snowman! that moves about freely. As for scars I have a inch wide and 10 inch long scar running down my stomach and no one has ever said anything to me in a negative way.
Good luck with your OP. |

Sorry to hear that OP. I hope you're ok. My dad had it years ago and had to have it removed. He had his yearly checks until he got the all clear in 1986. I would imagine he obviously has a scar but I don't think it bothers him. Scars say that you came through it x |

Had a dull ache in my left baw for a while took ages to finally get it checked out.
Reassured it was a strain due to running and recommended I wore compression shorts.
You always think the worst and hope for the best in situations like this.
If nothing else it was good to get the baws checked out for peace of mind.
Gid luck OP |

I would say, if 3 people complain, but 1 person takes it on board then your posts are not wasted! X |

We be grateful for the every breathe we are blessed with. Scars are plentiful and part of normal life.
Every skin type is different and healing is uniquely subjective. Vitamin E may be of good help to help the scars normalise if not blend in.

I had a hernia for which I needed an operation. During the assessment, the consultant noticed lumps in my testicles. I'd never really noticed them. Further investigation showed that they are "benign cysts" which are not cancerous. However, I now receive annual ultrasound scans to keep an eye on them. Please don't ever assume that ANY lump is normal. ALWAYS get it checked. I lost one wife to pancreatic cancer and my second wife had advanced breast cancer (now in remission). It's not worth the risk to ignore any warning signs. |

Following on from my reply in this thread. 5 weeks after my operation I was called in for a chat - ( thinking I was clear as it took so long to get a follow up meeting ) They told me they had found cancer in the removed testicle, they called it testicular seminoma. However the CT scan revealed not trace that the cancer had spread. Phew !
So now I’m regular in Birmingham for the next 5 years…..
Plenty of chances to have fun that day !! |
