I'm sorry to hear of your loss and heartened that you are trying to do something positive out of it. Let me know how to donate.
A couple of paracetamol beforehand may help.... In a placebo kind of way! |

I have to work with terminally ill children who suffere from C and CF and it's a horrible disease but raising those funds do help and can also make the last few years for people more comfortable. If you can give to local wards, certainly in Aberdeen it is well used and helps children/adults hugely |

Words are never enough but we is standing with you Puck.
Not sure about the paracetamol - think you need a leather belt - to bite when your fur gets ripped away - I'm sure there must be a teacher or two on FAB who would happily lend you the taws for the night!

Good luck on that as this is something close to my heart also, having lost family and friends to this disease including just last yr i think if i remember and i know a few that are also in remission as well.
Best of Luck and yeah ouch to all them parts being waxed...you might not feel the pain, but im thinking many guys that night might just be wincing for you when you get the sensitive areas done |

i cant remember if i got told this or if i read it in the news, a while ago a guy did a similar thing for charity purposes at a pub, and he ended up in hospital because they used strip wax on his bawsac, apparently ripped four layers of skin off and nearly lost his testicles :/ Ouch!
Anyway was thinking maybe more guys should step up to the challenge and also get waxed on the night, in order to raise more money? just a thought and idea |

A gentleman today in Tesco was asking for donation's for breast cancer charity and he is being waxed. He appeared to also be one hair man!:o
SO another guy in a similar position and he was saying he has done this before and actually loved the buzz of it all! |

I think with the support shown on the forum for Puck to do the waxing at the ayrshire social shows that a lot of people think this is very worthwhile.
Perhaps davy u should think again about it happening there and I am sure there isnt a venue anywhere which would disagree with money being raised for charity.
Sorry to hear the organiser thinks its a no go.
Good luck in raising cash for this charity where ever you choose to do it Puck and i also hope people dont pull out of the social now that the event isnt going to happen. |

ok for people reading this,
1, i aint stopping a social night for 1 hour or more when there is food about,
2 nothing was said to me about charity raffel,
3 someone out of fab swingers coming to an event is a no go area,
4 we do charity stuff thats also close to jans heart as people know when she just lost her dad with illness,
5, i am not heartless, but this was a social event for people to come and have fun enjoying there night,
6, it was also disscused he could maybe do it at valentines or ayrshire social, as we never agreed,
IF anyone wants to cancel there place at the social as we are not agreeing to this please let us know,
if enough cancellations, we will cancel social, and return peoples payments,
we are not heartless, we could set up a charity night if someone asks us to do one for them as agreed,

ppl i wanny thank everyone for there support its muchly appreciated
point 1 ..davy it was discussed with you at lenth i discussed it with you before i started this thread
point 2 the proffesional that had agreed to do the waxing is actually a fab member ( been on here long enough to know rules about non members attending socials)
point 3 ..no one asked to actually stop social nor would it be near any foodstuffs it would have been done at the side where if anyone wanted to come watch they could those that wanted to carry on dancin well thats what socials are for
point 4 charity raffle was just an idea for on the night for ppl to participate
however i take on board you objections and will myself arrange another night fot it to take place where we can focus on raising money for this fantastic charity
and again folk i thank you for your support

as said to you in a message,
we never talked in length,
we said if we agreed we would sort something out but wait till we sort out few problems here,
we do support charity events,
but we have done all the running around, paying hall, dj,food,
and also said to you if you held a charity event we would be prepared to help you at a future time,
so please do not make us out the bad ones on this post as its seems that way,
p,s the charity for cancer,
what charity are you giving it as no mention on forum post nor to us,
also you did state the person was not on fab, so we said no to this,
this is well blowing out of propotion, and would be best this forum post deleted,

maybe the tit for tat would be better suited in private, this would allow sufferers of this terrible disease a little dignity.
well done with the intent to raise funds and I am happy to donate.

as said, think this forum post should be deleted,
and for people who think we are being hard on here, we aint,
jan has also had cancer, and another cancer scare two years ago and we do understand where puck is coming from,
if puck wants any help in setting up a charity night ayrshire or glasgow, we would help in any way we can,
if puck and others agree, we will see if we can do one in june, and anyone invited, not just off fab as will be a charity night for cancer research, |
