"I’ve recently returned to Fab & it’s Forums after a lengthy break away. Looking back on some of my Threads I’ve had a good chuckle at some of the “characters” that have commented & for the main enjoyed how folk have engaged with my intended humour, my likes, & the topics. Sadly, not everyone seems to appreciate other people’s Threads & it’s become obvious that the Net encourages negative people to air their opinions, vent their frustrations, start arguments with folk they don’t know (pretty pointless), & create negative vibes where they’re not actually needed, required or will make any positive difference in the world. Personally, I use the Forums to shoot the breeze with folk whose company I enjoy, make friends with folk who I’d feel comfortable to take for a drink, or simply enjoy spending time with. I understand & appreciate this isn’t everyone’s approach & that there is an element that just want to share their negativity, their hurt & ugliness. I’ve witnessed posts from what might initially seem an attractive member’s profile & quickly seen them become unattractive due to their “Internet Voice” spouting on posts that shouldn’t be of interest to them, yet (sadly) they are complelled to post their bitterness on. So for what it’s worth here’s my own rules that I try to adhere to. Perhaps you have your own little guidelines for posting (I might implement them & integrate some within my own). RANDOM GUIDELINES: • If you can’t say something nice don’t say anything at all (Bambi 1942). • Filter our THREADS that can’t bring out some joy in me, won’t make me smile, will have no positive affect on my life. • Filter our PEOPLE that can’t bring out some joy in me, wont make me smile, will have no positive affect in my life. • Completely ignore Trolls. It drives em crazy & they eventually move on till they get someone else who WILL take the bait. But mostly cos it drives em crazy (sorry, even I can’t resist a chuckle there). • Think twice before responding to a post. Is it relevant to the Thread, the discussion, adds anything positive, or just inflaming others? If it’s the latter - move on. Life is too short to waste on making myself or others unhappy. I’m sure there’s more guidelines but that’s enough for now. So if I DO post a thread that irritates you, inflames you, annoys you, or that you feel isn’t relevant to your life please feel free to move onto another thread. One that will bring you pleasure, bring you joy, make you feel good about yourself. Trust me, you’ll secretly thank me for nudging you in that direction rather than down an ugly path & you may get a more positive Fab experience. Festive best wishes & happy Fabbing, Random.
