Been browsing the forums and see a few socials planned over the next few months ....how much advanced notice do folks need and is doesn't it ruin some of the spontaneity or does add to the anticipation ?? |

The socials as in the big social well they fill up very quickly then you have to go on the reserve list but I'm seeing less and less are pulling out on the night. So anyone leaving it to last minute I'm afraid they will get nowhere |

It aint easy organising a small social of 14 we know, to organise 100 plus its feckin hard. These things need time to plan and get numbers sorted. Spontaneity is impossible, but put your name down and be spontaneous on the night , best of both worlds. |

I suppose it can be a case of if you're not fast you're last. As PH has said, the big socials can fill up quickly with very few drop outs. Some of us like to plan our social diaries (both fab & non fab) in advance, especially if booking accomodation & planning after parties.

To be honest I think now that the socials are just such a success, everyone was to be involved.
Its not as if its just organised by one group of people, there's Ayrshire ones, Glasgow, Edinburgh ones, Dundee one etc... different organisers and everyone of these events over the past 3 years that I can remember are brilliant and your now having less and less people pulling out for whatever reason.
Before if you were on the reserve list you would normally think your get offered place on the night but now, there's less chance of that happening, if you've paid then your in |

Yep for a lot of folk making sure you have babysitters hotels etc in place and back up babysitters and the organisers well they have to take deposits book venues, djs, and generally do lots of planning and the socials are just amazing and a fantastic way to get involved in the fab community |

"I'm probably never going to be that involved as I'm rarely available evenings and never know from day to day what I'm doing "
We all have our private life's and our lifestyles, if fab fits into them then great, if not we just get on and deal with it.
Enjoy your experience on fab OP in whatever capacity you can |

Because of my previous job and childcare I needed at least 2 months to plan anything that required me having a specific date off. Now in a different job I have certain nights free but if it doesn’t Land on those nights I’d not be able |
