I've decided this is the year I lose all the extra weight I have been carrying.
Rather than pay 5 pounds a week to go to a class I am going try healthier eating and increase my physical exercise (not hard to increase it as its currently zero) by joining a gym.
I know this is a very cliched thing to do at new year, but my kids are more active now and I want to be able to take them out and be able to run/swim/climb etc.
Pure gym seems quite reasonable.......only missing the pool really.
Is anyone a member, and would they recommend it? |

Few mates are members of pure, seem happy enough with it, great price and no contract.
Open 24 hours suits them and others as shift workers, I hate january gym wise all the noobs getting in my way but hey come march there all gone again |

not a member but it looks pretty good and the no contract thing is a bonus even if it turns out to be not what you are looking for. I agree its a pity it doessnt have a pool though. |

I am a member there, it's a good gym for little money. red swears by Dw fitness but the one in Glasgow is full of neds and old kit (he goes to Sunderland one) whilst Pure is half the price and quality equipment. |

Aye I'm a member of the aberdeen one, been there for the last 4 months excellent value for money, plenty of cardio/weight machines, only thing that gets really busy is the free weights but thats a given. All types of folk use it, neds, affluent types etc, changing rooms bit cramped, but other than that does what its says on the tin |

Decent enough gym mate and well priced especially for city centre. You should defo give it a try for couple of months - took some guys I was training there, and it has most of the equiptment needed for sure.
Enjoy mate and good luck on the fitness. Although as previous poster said gyms in Jan and first few weeks Feb at their busiest then the drop off....not of weight but of members. |

I just started going to Puregym in Glasgow this week. Everything you could need (except for a pool I suppose) and pretty much exactly the same as Healthland when it was there. I just got to get back in the routine now which is the hard part! Anyone looking for a training partner? |
