We are looking to go to a club for the first time, in the next few weeks or so. It will be a first for many things also as we haven’t had any meets yet.
What’s best for beginners who don’t want to jump in feet first?
CJs or After 8 or another in Scotland

Had a look at reviews and it’s sort of 50/50 distance for both doesn’t make much difference as travel is approx the same. CJs you have to book in where After 8 I think you can just turn up. With the After 8 style if you decide to not go or leave shortly after you haven’t really wasted anyone time. We are just interested to know what people thought the 1st they went. |

Cj's is bigger apparently. Why would you see that as wasting time? Both clubs charge an entry fee whether you stay for 1 hour or 4. I would personally see booking in as a bonus rather than d*unk people walking in off of the street expecting guaranteed fun. Only my opinion though.

This is spot on it what stops me having a bit of Dutch courage and overdoing it and thinking it a be a great idea to just walk in, Booking is best idea ever |

Can't comment on after8 as not been there
but having fairly recently taken the same steps as you guys are now lol,
we can only say that everyone at Cj's has been fantastic with us,
"everyone starts somewhere" and "take things at your own pace"
is the most often given advice we have had from the folks we've met, nor
have we felt pressured to go further than we're ready for from anybody in there.
All in all we wouldn't hesitate to recommend the place to beginners |

Cjs as a couple u pay £40 to get in as u need to contact CJ to book in as she will email u details of the address, it's a good night as u have buffet, tea, coffee and soft drinks for free and take Ur own alcohol and different lounges to sit and chat and no pressure to do anything as play rooms are upstairs.
After eight u just turn up as no need to book in and u pay £35 or £40 as a couple to get in and also pay a membership fee of £30 I think so Ur first visit is going to be at least £60 minimum and has the one area for chatting and got 3 rooms downstairs and 2 rooms upstairs, free tea coffee and soft drinks and take Ur own alcohol Hope this info helps with Ur decision xx |

A couple attending After 8 would be £25 entry(Friday or Saturday - £10 entry for a returning couple on a Wednesday) plus either £5 for one nights membership or £25 for annual membership. So it would be £30 or £45.No need to book.Details are on their website. |

Can only say anything about cjs. As never been to after8
But the twice I’ve been cj,her staff. And all the folk that were there were very welcoming and friendly and absolutely no pressure to do anything your not comfortable with. I think the hardest part is walking through the door as once your in you’ll realise there’s nothing to be afraid of. Hope you enjoy your visit what ever club you attend.
I must say though I’ve also been to a club down in derby and it again was very welcoming and friendly so I’d like to think that after8 would be too. |

Only time we went to after8, it was a sausage fest. Easily twice as many guys as females. You would have thought it was a Gang bang. A number of guys were d*unk and it seemed nobody was monitoring who just turned up.
That is why never went back |

We attended CJs for the our first ever club night on 15th December. We both had a great night, and the staff were very helpful.
We had been to a social event before that also, which was great as well. We are down for a couple more nights out .
Hope you have a great night like we had . |

Having been to both we would recommend that you go to cj's it's a much more friendly and relaxed atmosphere. After 8 well let's just say we only stayed about half an hour. Angel felt really uncomfortable pretty much from the moment she walked through the door. |
