So folks, anyone who has bought a car, what was it and how did you come by it?
Was it:
Brand new ?
From a dealer ?
Auction ?
from a private Sale ?
or other ?
How the feck do I come up with this innovative, interesting forum chat that keeps everyone chatting.
My first was an Astra and I bought it at the old meat market central auctions nr the Gallowgate |

Red Austin metro. My dad took me. thinking he was Arthur Daley he got a bargain at hunner quid off. When we got it home my discovered it was a death trap. Used to drive and things would detatch itself. The bonnet wouldn't click shut so it used to fly up over the windscreen so you couldn't drive over a certain speed. The first time I washed it it turned pink. Never forget that. My sister had a blue one and you could use either keys to drive it. Had to freewheel down to the garage when I was selling it. Fuckin loved that wee motor tho...took me to many a rave and had many near death experiences that I'll never forget x |

A 1970 Mk11 cortina, a hand me down, AND, the guy that bought it from me around 40 years ago, still has it (in his garage) and is hoping to get it back on the road within 2020. Wish I still had it. Plus, got my first shag in it. |

My first car was a van .
Vauxhall Astramax van in white of course.
£2000 from a very dodgy van dealer at Newbridge.
Was a great weekend van and took me all over the country with work and many a climbing trip up north as it was big enough to sleep 2 |

First car was a new M reg escort, the thing was a beast and first of the ztec EFi engines they done, thing of beauty at the time plus was like shit of a shovel always had a new car and a old car at the same time, I've had some classics but nowadays I don't value new cars, they are all similar as each other

Mine was an old Opel Corse, one with a manual shoke ( won't let me write the proper word, because it's too violent ). Loved that car too bits, even though it was an old timer it never failed me. Until I skidded into a fence on an icy and slippery day and it had to be written off. Really quite annoying was that my neighbour went into that same fence shortly after, at a much higher speed, mowed the whole fence down basically, and his car was fine!! Suppose that's the difference between a solid 4x4 and my little corsa. |

I’ve been driving since I was old enough to learn but only passed my test when I was 29 so I have two first cars, my dads ford escort- the one with the bug eyes and massive oval grille
Officially it was a Second generation Citroen C4 owned from brand new, reliable comfy car but boring as hell compared to the first gen C4.

My first car was a Ford Capri, two tone green and grey. Bought it from work colleagues husband who had taken out the 1.6 engine and put in a 2 litre motor. Great car, just really twitchy in the wet. I'm surprised I didn't kill myself in that car |

My first Car was a Gold coloured Mk 1 Ford Escort "N" Reg (1975) It was gifted to me by my mum in 1983 as I was driving it more than her. Great car, eventually traded it in for a Red Opel Kadett Coupe. Another thing of beauty! |

I can't even remember the make of mine . It was wee and blue and looked like it should be in the circus. Always half expected the bottom to open up in it like The Flintstones |

Apologise to all Austin lovers. Are there any?"

D Reg Fiat Uno my dad bought me when I was 17, hasn’t passed my test but I couldn’t get insured/was allowed to drive his GTI
It was a bloody death trap, the bucket was so rusty, a hole appeared in the floor in the back.
Don’t even get me started on the bloody electrics

T reg Rover 200, Mum bought it brand new and flogged it to me for 2 grand at 5 years old (the car, not me, that would have been dangerous and irresponsible).
Got another five years out of it and still think it was pretty decent compared to a lot of my friends first cars, primarily because it wasn't made in France.
Mum nearly cried the day I traded it in, cash she'd bought it with was a gift from her Dad who'd passed away a couple of years later. |

1963 red 850cc Mini OYJ 956. Cost me all of £17-50!! MOT failure that my Dad thought would be good experience for me to rebuild with his help and guidance. I learned an awful lot about working on cars!! New sub frame, new sills, sorted brakes, suspension, and holes in floor. I was dead proud when it passed its MOT and hit the road. Was written off 6 months later when some idiot overtook coming towards me. I survived, but my precious Mini didn't! |

Honda Civic VII gen, brillant car. That was long time ago but nowadays all cars in the same class looks very similar. Plus stupid downsizing and engines like 1.0 with 3 valves, turbo and 120 HP, what a joke. |

First was private sale, Mark 2 grey Escort, traded it in for a 1750 Maxi, not much to look at but stick it in 2nd to avoid wheels spinning and it left a few boy racers standing down at the beach. It was great for fun as seats folded flat, just like being in a double bed . |
