Swinging being brought up in convo?

If/when out with friends and the odd joke is made at times about keys in the bowl etc, do you laugh or do you make a comment like "we don't do that"

I don't mean with friends who know you swing but ones that don't know, do you just laugh it off with them or do you defend the scene?

We've had times jokes have been made and we can't work out if they know or not

Normally the same until they start with "and there is this dirty club" then I feel I've gotta step in and defend the scene

I got stuck with a Mumsnet/lights off/quick-poke-and-a-wank type group having drinks a wee while back, and everyone was gossiping about a girl we know getting an escort for her man's birthday and playing with her. They were all outraged and I was thinking top bird! I defended her, but I now know I couldn't tell any of them anything!

We’re quite guilty of defending the scene too usually like “well friends of ours are swingers and they don’t put keys in a bowl or the likes!”

Then laughter erupts and they say things like “what friends of yours are swingers? We know all your friends” lol at that point hubby and I usually erupt in laughter

One of the football teams I actually play with always make comments on the whatsapp about swinging, (not towards me, just general chat), and its the only time I don't get involved in the chat lolol

Funny this should come up now. We are really good friends with our neighbours and often have dinner at eachothers house. Swinging has come up a couple of times and we laughed it off, but always wondered. But then Mrs had their Mrs round for coffee and only went and asked her if they were swingers. Well that went badly. Blocked on WhatsApp and very awkward

That reminds me of a couple I said to once as I was sure they were out n out swingers (they even own a pub called the dog inn) and they were like eh naw we aren't that way inclined, why would you think that to this day I'm not sure if they really are or not

It happened a couple of weeks ago with us out for dinner with my best man and his wife. An innocent joke was made about sex not being a spectator sport, we both burst out laughing at the same time. He cottoned on something was going on . We had planned on outing ourselves to them on this night anyway. We did so later on back home. Feckin hilarious.

Out of interest why did you want to tell them? For me personally I wouldn’t discuss our sex life as a couple with anyone else far less sex with others x

Not sure why _ands, hes my best mate for 36 years so thought why not, me and mrs she D did chat about it. Was hilarious when we told him ,he always knew i was a tart but thought he would be shocked hearing about Mrs She D but he said he thought she was always up to something as she can be quite flirty lmfao. You should have seen the look on Mrs She Ds face , she NEVER looked at another guy that way in 30 years of marriage. I was rolf .

We were in new flat of vanilla friends to meet and go out.

Going out we passed by a building and they said ‘That’s the so called swinging club’ . It was CJs and that’s the only reason we know where it is. We nervously laughed it off but they would never ever suspect we were swingers.

We have a couple of different friends who have said in the passing, "Aye you two are a couple of Swingers!" We've just laughed it off, and now I say,

"Swinging? Is that like wife swapping? Tried that once! …. Got a new lawnmower and a Black n Decker drill!, thought I got a no bad deal!"

Normally stops any further questioning.

A few girls I work with have made comments along that line but since they all think I’m a bit of a prude I just ignore. X

I mentioned to my son & his friend that a friend was planning a Gatsby themed party, to which my son's friend asked "have you ever swung with a guy?". He was of course asking to try & wind my son up....

I just laugh innocently, looking a little shocked. I think I've got it down to a T, I hope I do anyway I do feel like setting them straight though but only do it in my head.

This is exactly my reaction, in fact this subject came up in the work place the other day, at that point I decided to remain oblivious x.

I just laugh it off, although a guy at work has brought it up twice infront of other folk and my give away is when I turned pure red (scarlet)!. At the same time I've shrugged it off.

All the people that hide it , if you dont know the people that well ie work colleagues etc . Why not say you dabbled in It in your 20s explain the rules then say youd never do it now. I bet most people have a few tales from their 20s, so would not be a shocker to some . You might even get a few more people interested in the scene.

My friends know , my work colleagues also . Even some family are aware ,few don't know . I'm not great at lying and truly don't care anymore what people think . In fact I defend Cjs and Fab being the best step I took in life . Met fantastic people , have fun and met some genuine friends for life . Finally found people who think the same as me .

I got married at 22 and was 19 when W and I got together... Don't think that would work for us

I have one friend who knows. She brought it up in conversation. Her boyfriend had suggested it - at the least just checking out a club but not necessarily to play. She was horrified. So I told her. Apparently I'm a dark horse but she wasn't surprised. Might be the rants I've had over 50 shades over the years... But we've known each other for over 13 years. I have a few groups of 'mum friends' and not a chance would they be told anything! I think my coffee invites would stop rather abruptly

Same things happens to us! Our really close friends have made that joke on more than one occasion and we don’t know whether they know about us... or maybe they are too and are trying to figure out if we are
